Bringing business partner to usa

Hi,

I do not know this is the right forum to post this topic or not but this is essential for me to know before even I can hope to start things. I am presently waiting removing conditions on my 2 yr green card and waiting for my 10 yr one. My wife is USC. My wife and I want a start a Healing,art and imported handicraft store in usa. For that I am planning to bring in my buddy from India as business partner. Whether he would stay here and do business with me or whther he would stay in India and be my supplier is based on available options. The following are my questions :

a) Is there a visa available where i can bring him as business partner where he can stay here and start a business with me ?

b) I can bring him in with B1 to discuss and show prospects of business here.He is married in India with a fixed job, house on his name, so it would not be a trouble to show ties to india while getting a visa. in that case he will need to return in 3 months and i have to set him up as a partner cum supplier in India. Right ?

c) Also what amount of money needs to be shown as capital to the US govt, for a indian man to start a business here ? any idea ?

a) It depends what exactly he'd be doing and when he'd come over. For example, if he invests $500'000+ he can easily get an investors visa. If you set up your business in both countries and later bring him over as a manager, you can petition for an L1 (intra-company transfer) visa for him. If this is a very small scale business then no, unless he has extremely specialised skills, you won;t be able to bring him over.

b) Yes. It'll be up to him to apply for the visa, though you can send a letter of invitation.

c) $500'000+ for a visa. For you to start a business or for him to invest but not come here- no minimum.

Let's make it $1,000,000.00 minimum plus the business would have to create at least 10 new jobs.

Yes, there is a provision for a $500,000.00 exception if the business is in a rural area like Podunk Holler, Nebraska, where a sane person would not even drive through, let alone live, so that won't really work in real life.

To be definitive would be impossible with that limited information, even if I was a Lawyer which I am not.

E2 comes to mind for a start.
