Hello everyone,

This may be the most basic of questions but I need to know for certain what format the date is on my wife's green card.

It reads as follows:

Card Expires: 12/10/11

Resident Since: 12/10/09

I need to know if the green card expires Dec 10th or Oct 12th? We are about to file the I-751 so I need to know the correct date!

Thanks for the help in advance!

Chuck

I would assume it's the mm/dd/yy format. When did your wife get her Green Card, in December of 2009 or in October of 2009?

In English it is always Month, Day, Year

so it is Dec 10th

you can only file it 90 days before expiration

Thanks for the help! We couldn't remember which month it was that we received it so this helps a lot!

Thanks, Chuck

Yep, it is mm/dd/yy, so your wife's expires in Dec. I just looked at my husband's green card, and it says expires 05/18/13, and he was approved in May. Also, there is no 18th month, so that helps with the date order for reading his. :P

You didnt need to. Its a card or document issued by the U S govenment. The U S hasnt concerned it self with what the British thought was correct since the Tea party.
