Since you do not have an A number yet, leave it blank.

Can anyone advise about the box on the G-325A form that asks for a File Number A

Should the USC leave this blank or is it better to write not applicable ?

If you are talking about the USC's form since they are not an alien they will leave blank, if this is the first time for the beneficiary and has not had a visa to the USA, they also wont have an A-Number either not until NOA2, then the beneficiary will also leave blank.

Another G-325A will be made out by the beneficiary at the tome of AOS, at that time the A- number will be known and entered.

Personally I would put N/A as it is not good practice to leave any boxes blank. The beneficiary would put 'None', or, 'Unknown' if they have been issued an alien number in the past but do not know it. The beneficiary will be assigned an 'A' number during the USCIS process.

We put either N/A or None on any and all lines that couldn't be answered. I simply felt better knowing that I had passed along the understanding that yes, we had seen the question and not that we were not ignoring it, or had missed it. I did not want to leave anything open that could be ambiguous.

AOS: Feb 26, 2007 - Jul 26, 2007
REMOVING CONDITIONS: May 4, 2009 - Oct 3, 2009
CITIZENSHIP: Nov 27, 2012 - May 9, 2013
Note: I immigrated from Canada, not T&T - the timeline is reflective of this.

PRESENT - IR-5 Story (reuniting a family)
I-130 for Parents - 2013
Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office for processing

Feb 26 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred to my local office for processing

Feb 28 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 18 - got emails saying that the petitions are approved smile.png

Thank you to all who replied, the OP is my SO, we're getting paranoid about mistakes now,we plan to send everything off tomorrow morning and suddenly every small thing looks huge.
