I'm confused. Was there a previous denial for a visa somewhere in the mix? tourist or school maybe?

Frankly, until there is DNA confirmation, you stand a chance of being denied in Kingston. I am sure your fiance is a stand-up guy, but this scenario has played out several times and it is an instant red flag. Although he may not petition for the child now. He may do so later. There is always a presumption of fraud to be overcome, so please make sure you have grilled him and understand ALL details better than the CO will.

I know it can be uncomfortable to tackle some hard issues in long distance relationships, but trust me please, that as a Jamaican, this phenomenon of the "child out of the blue" is common and will be treated with loads of skepticism.

I wish you both the best.

No but he will be her her husband. His income will need to pay child support, her income will need to make up the shortfall that paying child support causes. My ex casually told me about 2 years into our relationship that his $250K loan from his parents for schooling (international student) would be paid back once he gets a job. He never told me it was a "loan" and that it would need to be paid back. Nothing like being informed that the next tens of years of my life will be assisting to pay HIS debt... which is something I felt I should have been made aware of when we started dating.

she needs to be aware that she will be assisting with child support by way of making up the difference in income. That her family may need to make sacrifices for a child she's never met, for a woman she's never met. Just as I would have had to help pay his debt with changes to my life and why when Tony and I started dating I made sure he was fully aware I had a credit card debt I was paying off, and made sure he was okay with helping out with it if I didn't get a job before my savings to pay it while unemployed were depleted.

I get that... however the statement was "responsibility"... much different than what you describe

YMMV

Half way thru k1 visa and my fiancé finds out he has a 4 year old daughter. ####### do I do now? Should I with draw!?

He's never even seen the kid.

I say he should do a DNA test you know lots of men get (JACKET) in JA so don't be so quick about it, also I still wouldn't put that he has a child on paper because technically he dosen't know especially if his name is not on the BC. Quick story my aunt husband thought he had a daughter for over eighteen years and when he filed for her DNA test prove he wasn't the father and all along he thought she was his child.

It will all be a moot point, if neither party is going to put up the $400 to $700 necessary to do the DNA testing. So, as Caramel stated if his name is not on the BC, it is only hear-say at this point.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
