i've been aware that a hpv vaccine is needed for women under 26 years old in order to receive k1 visa. i dont wanna take it. is there any possibility to refuse the vaccine and had my visa denied because of it? it's still under development, it has a lot of bad side effects including cancer. did anyone refused to take it before?

It actually prevents cancer, not causes it. However, it is no longer required (they changed the law a few years ago).

One death per month is the average loss of life associated with the cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil according to an FDA report obtained by a government watchdog agency.

Merck, the makers of Gardasil, are poised to make profits in the billions from the vaccine, which protects against some cancer-causing forms of the sexually transmitted human papilloma virus (HPV), but the pharmaceutical giant has come under heavy criticism for fast-tracking the drug onto the market without adequate testing in order to beat out its rivals.

Furthermore, this story reveals evidence that the vaccine currently being administered for HPV may increase the risk of precancerous cervical lesions by an alarming 44.6 percent in some women. The vaccine, it turns out, may be far more dangerous to the health of women than doing nothing at all.

If true, this information reveals details of an enormous public health fraud being perpetrated on the American people, involving FDA officials, Big Pharma promoters, and even the governors of states like Texas. The health and safety of tens of millions of young girls is at stake here, and what this NaturalNews investigative report reveals is that HPV vaccinations may not only be medically useless; they may also be harmful to the health of the young girls receiving them.

I do have a lot of information on it. Thanks. These types of reports are written by groups who aim to discredit this vaccine because of moral issues involved, not medical ones. They believe it will leads girls to become sexually active at a younger age and become promiscuous. I also ask you to cite your source.

Interestingly, the American Academy of Pediatrics recently made their policy to include HPV vaccine for boys as well, to avoid genital warts and to help protect passing the disease to women. See here. http://aappolicy.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/pediatrics;127/2/387

The Centers for Disease Control recommends this vaccine to women, but does not require it. Here are their FAQs http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/hpv/vac-faqs.htm

The FDA has approved it for boys too http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Healthday/fda-panel-backs-giving-hpv-vaccine-gardasil-boys/story?id=8531585

I quote from the above about the effectiveness and side effects, "Since its approval, Gardasil has proven to be safe and nearly 100 percent effective in preventing precancerous cervical lesions from the four HPV strains targeted by the vaccine, according to studies. However, there have been side effects reported that include fainting and blood clotting. Research published last month found that for every 100,000 doses of HPV vaccine distributed, there were 8.2 episodes of fainting and 0.2 episodes involving blood clotting."

Here is some more information on a recent study about the effectiveness in boys. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/02/110204142257.htm

I am not sure how "watchdog" groups know it causes cancer when the vaccine has only been available for a few years.

But, everyone is allowed to believe what they wish.

My OB/GYN said she knew of a few cases with minor hair loss. :( Moving right along... I agree with you.
