With the unbelievably long wait time for your PD to be current,

how do you keep in touch with your spouse on a daily basis?

I used world phone card less than .02 a minute can call from anywhere anytime. They have a 1-800 number and also a number list for your city. We also sent emails everyday and qq when we could meet online.

I'm using "Dragon Plus" from callingcards.com which advertise 1¢ per min but they

freaking overcharge the minute to 3.2¢ a min

and, silly me, how can i forgot to put "email" on the poll answers.

we rarely use email haha

You are getting a good one! LOL dancin5hr.gif

A lot of them do that. You have to look at the fine print. The big number on the card or ad poster is often only for calls to land lines in specific cities. It goes up if you're calling a different city, and up again if you're calling a mobile phone.

How about vonage... check them out, sometimes they got pretty good deal. I believe right now they have 60 countries that are included with your local callin.

So you can call to all these countries just as you making local call.

I used localphone, .012 cents a minute. Extremely cheap... 1 hour for .72 cents. My wife still uses it to call her parents. Very easy to use.

sounds good, but have you actually time your call and calculate if they charge you exactly 1.2 cent per minute? :hehe:

I use my cell phone in my morninigs, then we use Skype Video Chat in my evenings.

My cell provider had special 5 dollar/month international plan, I jumped on it, now it's not available for new subscribers :( It's nice to be grandfathered :D No additional per minute fee, regardless if land line or cell phone.

In a pinch, when the rest is unavailable, I use google voice @ 2 cents/minute.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

It's good deal for China, the OP's country - not so much for Vietnam. Vonage doesn't have direct service in Vietnam, and their World Plan is 34 cents a minute. We use a couple of different services for Vietnam; V247 and Lunex. Both have local phone numbers in our area code where you call to connect, so there's no charge for the connection call. You can register multiple phone numbers and the system uses the phone's caller ID so you don't have to enter any PIN codes. We can call from our landline home phone, my cell phone, my wife's cell phone, or her kid's cell phones. They start around 4 cents for calls to landlines in the two major cities, and go up to about 7 cents to mobile phones outside the big cities. I can also load up either account using PayPal, which is convenient for me.

My wife also uses Yahoo and Skype for webcam and voice chat, but some of her family members live way out in the sticks where home internet access is too expensive, and going to an internet cafe is a pain in the a$$.

Yep that's the price, only catch is the call time is rounded up to the next minute when you're done. But that's not unusual. Service works just like Jim described his services.
