Alright VJers,

After curiously calling the NVC automated voice system tonight, I was advised that they have sent out an RFE via snail mail yesterday (June 22).

I am doing the Electronic Processing through Juarez, and have sent all of the documentation via e-mail.

On June 17, I sent in the AOS packet, and on June 21, I completed the DS-260 and emailed all of the supporting documentation.

Ok, so my question is, based on experience here, is this the false RFE that many have spoken of here on the forums??

Or is it possible that this is a real RFE?

If they need more information, wouldn't they just contact me via-email? Or do they still do RFE's via snail-mail even though I'm opted in???

thanks in advance for all of your help getting me this far guys!

It's entirely possible it's a real RFE - you won't know until you get it, and read what it's asking for. If it's asking for your IV package, then it's false. Anything else - it's real.

He doesn't have to wait.. I called NVC to see what my status was and they told me I had and RFE. They told me what the problem was and how to fix it.... I did all this before I received any emails..

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

I haven't had time to get on the forum until now today, but I called the NVC this morning and they said it was a false RFE because the DS-260 got processed immediately, and even though I literally sent in the supporting documentation 15 minutes after I completed and submitted the DS-260, I guess it took a couple of days to get uploaded into the system and a false RFE was automatically generated.

However, I just got an Email from NVC stating the following:

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

Regards,

NVC Document Review Team

National Visa Center

Serco Inc., Support Contractor

So they have everything now... does this mean that they have approved the contents of the package??? or does it mean they just have everything and will be reviewing shortly???

Thanks!

buddy - that's the 'case complete' email.

sometime soonish, a final review will be done, then the interview appointment will be scheduled.

Hang in there !! I'm betting you'll have 'appointment date set' next Wednesday or Thursday.

If they haven't contacted me yet, what are the chances that they would have information on my interview date if I called them?

usually have interview appointment arrive in email - check yer junk folders just to be sure.

uhm, possibly 3 days (max) difference between 'NVC KNOW' vs 'email hit inbox' .. usually is same day, sometimes is 1 day - is rare for 3 days diff.

You lose nothing by calling - hey - maybe make new friend at NVC? ;)

Alright,

Well I called NVC and they told me that the interview scheduling for CDJ is the 2nd week in July... but I see people on here that got their interview dates just a couple of days after CC and SIF so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how long it will ACTUALLY take.

Also, does EP use the same interview scheduling model or is EP totally different??

thanks!

With the exception of Montreal

EP Scheduling is the same, for the countries that use it,

pay no attention to the '2nd week scheduling storm' at NVC, is special, hidden scheduling queue for EP, the NVC TeleOperators know nothing about it.

Just call NVC. I called NVC to make sure they received my documents and that was when they told me that we had an RFE. It just so happened that I called the day after it was generated and they said we could scan and upload the documents the same day so we did. **We aren't an electronic processing country and after speaking to 3 agents, 2 of which said we could scan and email and 1 that didn't, we scanned the documents and they received it the next day** NVC said they generated a snail mail RFE but we never received it and it was more than likely because of the quick turnaround on our part.

"pay no attention to the '2nd week scheduling storm' at NVC, is special, hidden scheduling queue for EP, the NVC TeleOperators know nothing about it"

+1 :thumbs:NVC told us the same thing and we had our interview a few days after our case was closed.
