Hi, everyone.

I am filling out the form I-765 to file with AOS application now and I have question

about the alien registration number. Hope someone can give me some advise.

There is a question on the form I-765 "if I ever applied for employment authorization before".

I realized that I had applied for this when I was a student(6years ago) thru the school I had attended.

I went thru my old documents then found the EAD card, also noticed the Alien registration number on it.

When I filled out for I-129F, I didn't know I had this alien registration number.

I guess I should have put this number instead of saying "None" there.(I didn't even know)

Now, I have two different A numbers...

My questions now are

1)Which A number should I put in the box where it is asked on the form I-765? "old" number?

(currently, I put "new" A number on other forms where it is asked)

2)Is this cause any problem??

I don't think it is a common mistake, but please anybody help me! :help:

Stick with the one from your K1 NOA2. It's your immigration file, that's the one that matters :D

Vanessa&Tony,

Thank you for your advise! Yes, I will stick with the A number on my K-1 visa.

No no. I said the A number on your K1 NOA2 (petition approval notice.. what the USC got before the file was sent to your home country for processing). Don't trust the one listed on your visa. It is sometimes wrong. The NOA2 one is never wrong.
