Sorry--I may have misread your question. Parents of USC are deemed immediate relatives, and therefore they generally don't have to wait in line. An LPR cannot petition for parents--I was mixing up the two cases, and then making a totally wrong statement--sorry.

Thank you all so much for your feedback I really appreciate them all I will try to contact my embassy here in Chicago and find out on Monday and I will get back to you all with their reply and post it here for anyone else who may be in my situation. For the person who posted that my embassy is in Nigeria I think you may have misread my post. My husbands embassy is in Nigeria, I am a U.S. citizen born and raised here in Chicago and yes my I130 was already approved as Ricardo stated I am only waiting for the affidavit of support to be completed we have both already been interviewed when I was in Nigeria and that is all that is left. My husband was told that I had to return to the states and send proof that I still domiciled here since I was there for 2 years and also send the A. of support then after that he should be good to go but with my illness it has slowed down our progress, I did come back home but he is still there and when I came home I was hospitalized for 2 weeks, I do have the hospital discharge papers but I was wondering if this situation could possibly help us speed up our process.

Not true for parents--they have to wait in line as you put it.

Immediate relatives include spouse, parents and children of US Citizens. None of these need to wait for a visa number to be available.

There are no US Embassies in the USA and certainly not one in Chicago. If your petition is approved, contact the National Visa Center. If it is not, contact USCIS. Please note that obtaining a expedite does not assure the issuance of a visa. It's still Nigeria, the highest fraud Consular Post in the world and your husband will still need to convince the Consular Officer your relationship is genuine. Your illness will tend to complicate that chore.

sorry to hear of your illness and hope it will be delivered soon. Also You could have still stayed there and you enter the USA with him you dud not have to go back home to show proof.

As someone said above the country has a high issue with immigration fraudsters but i think you living there for 2 years says a lot
