Hi again

I started this thread earlier but I'll try again

I am trying to change my husband's interview appointment at the U.S. embassy to an earlier date .... perhaps there is some kind of "stand-by" list in case of any cancellations ... they have scheduled us for 2 months from now .... is anyone else having this problem? after all this time 2 months more seems like an eternity not to mention that it will create a huge problem for his accomodations there.

I hope there is some way .... thanks in advance ... please respond if you have any insight on this

my appointment was scheduled for june 10th at the embassy in frankfurt, germany. however i had already booked a flight to the states for june 7th. i emailed the embassy asking to reschedule my interview to an earlier date in may without giving them a reason why i would want to do so ... and they did, i had my interview may 18th

so bottom line, email teh embassy and ask if teh yare able to reschedule thats how i did it

This type of things are extremely consulate-specific. You need to ask people that did it in Senegal. There are different mechanisms including different mechanisms of speeding-up things (which is very possible).

You can always call your embassy and expedite your interview. That's what we did mine here in US embassy of Costa Rica, they move it earlier but they can't help you if your package didn't arrive yet in the embassy. So, you need to wait first until your package arrive in the embassy, from there you can request for an earlier interview. They will grant you if they have a slot available. Good luck!

thanks for all the responses ....... ouch 4 months wait, that's a long one ... but just to update you all, I did receive a response from Dakar Embassy the second time I emailed them and I received 2 responses. One said that only the NVC can change the interview, which I know to be incorrect because I had already tried that, and the other said that I could call a special number, usually purchased with a phone card, and I would have a 9 minute opportunity to speak to a live person and reschedule the appointment. Also noted was that all rescheduling is on a first come first serve basis.

I'm not sure if it's possible to reschedule at this late date, but I will try. I just thought I'd fill you in on the way Dakar handles their rescheduling.

By the way, do any of you know how to fly one way from Dakar to Los Angeles at a really discounted rate?
