5 months and still waiting

So I called USCIS today.. And to my concern they said that they cannot put a service request until next tuesday.. I said I spoke to someone on friday and they said they did.. The girl on the phone said sorry but they can only do service requests when the 5 months has passed by a week.. I'm depressed all over now.. Feels like I am never going to get approved..

I am right there with ya. It seems like it is something that can never happen, but it will. I put in a service request and got the background check letter, feel free to inquire again in six months. That did not make me feel better. I know it feels like if you do not do anything that they will forget about you, but I think just sending them an e-mail requesting that they check on your file is the best way not to make them angry.

I may be wrong because some people got results, but so far service request, e-mails, senator getting involved has not helped me.

Thing is they said I have to wait until my case is at 5 months and 1 week.. because according to them they are barely processing Dec 16th petitions so I am still in normal processing. I spoke to someone and they said they did a service request and to call the next week then spoke to another this week and said they cannot do anything.. until next Tuesday.. I've heard that you shouldnt call too much but im just at a loss..

I know, but my service requested devastated me and Marquis's girl got the same letter and then got her senator involved and got 3 page RFE. My date is 11/15 for I-130 and 12/02 for I-129F because I filed K-3 Spousal and I still have not been approved. Honestly I do not think they have even looked at our files yet. The 4 e-mails I sent after the background check letter only resulting in the same response.

I do not understand why this is happening, but I do believe we will get approved eventually.

I believe these people that get approved exactly 4 months from their date of NOA1 are on the desk of a very well organized immigration officer who has them in order of date and has set a goal for themselves. Others like us are probably sitting on the desk of someone who is unorganized and behind trying to catch up their desk by approving people in front of us to make themselves look better.

i got told the same thing and i got another person who was willing to put in request for me..said background so i contacted my congressman and got 3 page rfe but i like to make lemonade out of lemons so i have everything they needed and more and will only set me back a week but then again it was probably on ole edna's desk gathering dust.. , and now they will have to make some kind of decision..

Don't get too down. Sometimes some take longers than others and I know it gets frustrating and depressing, but hang in there. When I had gone through the process a couple years ago, our consulate was closed due to violence for weeks and it was hard to be patient. You will get your approval. Call back next week and have them do the request then.

i used skype so that was just pretty much call logs but pages of them....gather any email, cell phone logs , pics, anything u can find now u will need it for the interview stage anyways and will take your mind off this process some..im right here waiting with you!! behind a little on rfe waiting for husbands stuff he had to send via snail mail do to cost of package..

Trust me, I know how you feel. We waited 178 days, just shy of 6 months and each day was agonizing! Keep your chin up, this process is difficult enough without beating yourself up. This process does end, and the end is sweet

yep i would the senator did nothing for me but the congressman did and told me also to tell what my rfe was about and when i sent it in and they would even follow up on that..of course i think they didn't do anything with my petition until they got involved and a rfe is quick to do, but i would rather have that then gathering dust on edna's desk

Do you think they really keep track of how many times you call and inquire about your case.. That might look bad on me even though it was them telling me to call back.. I dont know what to think anymore.. WE thought that before he had to go back home to the UK we would have our NOA2 but it doesnt look that way anymore..

Yes, USCIS keeps track of everytime you call and so stated the dates I made my calls. I was told to wait 6 months and then add a Request. After that call, I receieved a RFE. One week later. They actually knew the dates when you inquired about your Petition. Thats my story on calling USCIS
