Party to fly national flag upside down in protest at convention

A Canadian political party intends to fly the national flag upside down during its convention this weekend as a signal of distress and resistance against the integration of Canada with the United States and Mexico into a North American Union regional government.

Connie Fogal, the leader of the Canadian Action Party told WND "we are opposed to the plan to develop the Security and Prosperity Partnership into a EU-style North American Union government" which "amounts to treason and is a total violation of the constitutional rights of Canadian citizens."

Fogel explained that the party has decided to fly the Canadian Flag upside down during its convention "as a signal of our distress and resistance against the integration of Canada with the United States and Mexico."

Fogal argues the plan to form a North American Union is designed to avoid public scrutiny and to maintain "deniability" even as the legal structure for a new regional government is being put into place by the executive branches of the three countries.

Cabinet-level executive branch participants of the SPP working groups in Canada are organized to work with counterparts in the U.S. and Mexico largely out of public view.

"The plan is to create the NAU incrementally," Fogal told WND, "because if any of the three governments were up front about their true intentions, the SPP plan would never fly."

The U.S. Department of Commerce SPP website contains a link to the SPP counterparts in Mexico and Canada.

Fogel used strong language in expressing to WND the focus of the Canadian Action Party to bring the SPP and NAU to the attention of Canadians.

"The rapid integration of North America into one entity ruled by an unaccountable, unrepresented and unelected group cabal of administrative executive branch officials is treason pure and simple," she said.

The Canadian Action Party is recognized by Canadian federal elections officials as an official Canadian political party. In the 2006 federal election, the party fielded some 36 candidates but received only some .04% of the vote.

A video currently archived on YouTube.com records Connie Fogel's charge that the Canadian involvement in SPP and the movement to create the NAU constitutes treason.

Notes:

• While Canadian Action Party has rights to exist (Canada has had "rhino party", "natural law party"--using Mahesh Yogi's definition of "natural law"), its site reveals that it left one word (any word starting with an "R") from its name
  
• Fogel and ####### (see earlier note) members never even bothered to protest the efforts of former PM Brian Mulroney to dismember Canada (through Meech Lake Accord--which two provinces proved wise enough to bin) nor when Bloke Quebecois (rather high percentage ex-Mulroney-tories--including leader Lucien Bouchard, who held cabinet position) forced through a law limiting how many Canadian flags could be on an MP's desk (this from a party which refuses to recognise Quebec AS part of Canada!)
  
• Not sure if ####### is an attempted resurrection of Mel Hurtig's "National Party" (correct name would have been "Hurtigian party"); notable that National Party lost miserably in 1993, and ####### has not one elected MP

There are quite a lot of Americans that are disgusted with the Bush administration, Corporate America, and the US Chamber of Commerce's open border agenda. Nobody really wants this sh*t crammed down our throats except for the so called elites in America that will undoubtedly enrich themselves enormously at the expense of everyone else. And Mexico wants it more than any because of their "basket case" economy and Third World poverty. Their agenda pretty much remains to dump their poverty and unemployment across the border to the USA and get as much capital rolling south as possible.

It doesn't sound like such a desirable arrangement for the vast majority of Americans (or Canadians). But Corporate America and their lackeys in government are salivating at the prospect. The first salvos in this agenda was the Bush administration's aggressive long standing policy to actively undermine enforcement of laws against illegal immigration and workplace enforcement.

You would think that the role of our government should be to encourage an American economy that serves the needs of the American people. Sadly, our government is and has been selling us out. Yes, we have the best government that money can buy. Just look at the US Senate's "comprehensive immigration reform" legislation S.2611. It was Corporate America and the US Chamber of Commerce's wet dream come true.

I'm sure that Canadians feel the same way about the motives of their government too. It just plain stinks to high heaven.

So, there are people that have taken a look at what the EU has done to the more prosper parts of the territory. And they're not excited about the idea of pulling a similar stunt here in North America. I can understand that sentiment.

Unfortunately Reinhard, you misoverestimate #######'s knowledge of Europe. While many Canadians DON't want economic union with US, they also know (unlike #######) that political union of Canada with US is a lead-balloon (Broadbent's NDP tried this idea in pre-election commercials back in 1988; not only NDP lost then, but Canada and US still are separate countries--and Harper NOT a US puppet).
