Hello everyone,

I married my USC husband on January 25, 2009. I filed for my green card on July 1st, 2010 (AOS from TN). If I am approved, I anticipate receiving the conditional green card some time between October 2010 and January 2011 (does this sound right?). Would I then immediately turn around and file for removal of conditions, as our 2nd anniversary would be coming up within less than three months, on January 25? Can I file for removal before I am approved? Anyone else in this situation? Thank you!

For ROC, 2nd anniversary means expires date of your 2 year conditional green card. So, 2nd anniversary of your conditional status.

Don't mix up with wedding anniversary ;)

oh! i WAS mixed up. Thanks, that clears things up a lot.

But if you have been married 2 years before you get your green card, is it true then that there is no condition? if so.. what if for some reason our interview wasn't 'til after our second anniversary?

Thanks again!

Then you will get a 10 years green card.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

Our date to file the I-751 is early February. We are going on vacation out of the country for 3 weeks at the end of December. Two questions I have are: 1. is it fine for my wife to leave the U.S. and return at anytime before the conditional 2 year green card expires (even without having the NOA1 receipt that the I-751 was filed)? 2. seeing how recent members had received their NOA1 within days of filing and receiving their biometrics appointment around 3 weeks after, is it advisable to wait until after we get back from our trip to file, so as not to miss the biometrics appointment?

Thanks for your input!

Regards,

Jack

Question #1 - Yes, if you have a valid green card you shouldn't have any trouble up to the date it expires and you don't need anything else.

Question #2 - When you say "Our date to file the I-751 is early February" do you mean that your 90 day filing window starts in early February? or that your conditional card expires in early Feb? I think you mean your card expires in early Feb, so I'll answer from that perspective.... If you file now it is possible that you could have a biometrics appointment fairly soon (depending on wait times at your local office), so it is probably safest to wait and file when you return.

Hope this all helps. Good luck with your application and enjoy your trip!

If you have two years of marriage at your POE you will be an IR and will receive a 10 year card.

apparently now *some* people get a second NOA receipt number that can be individually tracked online. It's the one with a header CRI89 , CONDITIONAL RESIDENCE I-89 CARD RECEIVED AT SERVICE CENTER which leads ME to believe that that is the card order form, and this is a new entry in the process--we didn't get to hear about the card order before. Some folks are asked to send in their biometric info *before* approval, and they are the ones who get this email.

You still can't check your initial submission number.

I noticed that the original NOA case number comes up invalid on a search, but the biometrics notice letter has an EAC reference which happily brings up the status, pointing to a CRI-89 application for removal of conditions.

hey guys, i need your help. i sent my i-751 documents on November 7th and VSC received it on the 10th. after i sent the documents i just realized that i sent it too early because the start of the 90 days before my GC expire is November 24th. i called USCIS and the agent told me that they are going to send everything back to me... so i started paying some bills because i thought that they are not gonna cash the check since i sent the documents too early.. but then on December 1st they cashed the check and the check bounced.

now my question is... are they still gonna send me back everything or they are just gonna send a letter and all i need to send them is another check? how much is the charge for the bounce check?
