You need to check with your state/county.

Nebraska doesn't require an SSN, I didn't have one and didn't need one to get the license. Applied after marriage for the SSN to get it in the married name.

My state requires a Social Security card. Hmmmm... So I guess she will need to apply for a card before we can even get married.

From what I've read on here in the past usually after 10 days or 2 weeks after they enter their info filters thru and you can go to your local social security office and apply for one. Well I don't know if this is an option for you but Vegas does not require a ssn to get married. ;)

Hahaha, yeah apparently a lot of states don't. I could even go up to Georgia and get it done there instead! Hm, looks like the Smokey Mountains instead of Key West, lol.

Are you sure your state requires SSN? I would double check it. I thought a while back it was made illegal to require SSN for non-citizens to get married - though many states still require it for citizens (ie you). Make sure there isn't a waiver of that requirement for foreign nationals. Good luck.

Edit: You wrote Key West - you live in Florida? From a county in FL website:

A driver's license, state issued identification card or passport must be presented at the time the application is made. A Social Security number must be provided on the application. Any person not a citizen of the United States may provide an alien registration number or another form of identification.

Thank you Harpa. I'm originally from Orange County Florida and that's where I'm planning on getting married, especially since my parents are there. That is good news to me.
