Haven't received NVC case number after 2 weeks of 1-130 approval

I received notice that my I-130 petition was approved on April 12. I have been called the NVC AVR regularly over the last two week to get the case number, without luck. Today I called and spoke with an agent. She confirmed that they NVC had received my file, but that a NVC case number has not yet been assigned. She further said that it would take about two more weeks for a NVC case number to be assigned.

My impression is that NVS assigns case numbers as soon as a case is received from USCIS? Is my understand correct? How to proceed?

They took long to process the case numbers. Mine took 17 days, you will receive yours soon. Keep calling everyday! :star:

After that they will be really fast to send emails, fees and etc.

Thanks for sharing, I got my approved day after your case Andrew, my case was approved on April 13 and I have also been calling NVC and still no case number. I am aslo hoping that we will get our case soon.

That's interesting! Because yesterday when I called to get an update they told me that my case had been received and then proceeded to give me the case number!

07-23-2008 - Met in San Isidro, Nicaragua.

10-11-2008 - Officially Dating!

07-09-2009 - Engaged!

05-22-2010 - Married in San Isidro, Nicaragua!

02-28-2011 - Touch (For Entering Case Number into System)

03-18-2011 - Visited Hubby in Nicaragua for 9 Days

I just got my approval letter last tuesday and I called nvc twice already and they told me the exact samething but they said 4-6 wks to get a case number... :unsure:

Yeah, they say that, but it's usually not the case. I called every other day for a week and a half before getting my case number. It's best to get an operator; AVR is very slow to update.

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.
