Hey everyone. Thanks for replying in advance. Im just beginning to embark on this long and eventful adventure, and had a question. I was wondering if it is accepted under the K-1 visa to get married in a court house or does it have to be in a ceremony??? We have just filed our petition for the 129-f a couple of days ago, and we are aware of the long road ahead of use, but we have these questions and figure why not get the answers in advance so there will be no surprises down the road.

Thanks very much

Any wedding that results in a valid marriage certificate is ok. My wife and I got married at the county clerk's office.

Thank you Very Much! Thats all I needed to know.

Im sure that there is some fee that has to be paid for this to take place??? I know you have to have a wedding license before it can take place but what is the fee to get married in the county clerk's office???

Go to your county's website to get more info.

Governed by local rules and varies widely by location, you need to check the process in your county/state for how they do it and any fees charged

YMMV

It depends on the state and county. In my county there is a $96 fee for the license, and a $75 fee for the civil ceremony. We walked into the county clerk's office and walked out 20 minutes later - married!

Look for your county's website. They should have a list of the services that are available and the corresponding fees for each.

As long as you are married within the time frame all is good. You need to be able to supply the marriage certificate that is dated before that deadline. I would give several days cushion though just to be safe (you never know what might happen).
