You can go here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do

Sign up for an account, and enter your receipt number from your NOA1.

Be warned though, they do not always update the site in a timely manner, or sometimes even at all.

If you have not even received your NOA1 yet, you might want to give USCIS a call and inquire about it.

Frustrating I know...but you are probably in for a long wait. We are a little different (CR-1 as opposed to K-1 like you) but we are at nearly 3 and half months and haven't heard anything apart from being sent our NOA1. This is normal though so we aren't expecting to hear anything for awhile yet. I have seen other VJ members saying they have only just been approved and have waited 6 or 7 months.

I agree with Jay-Kay - maybe setting up the account on USCIS will give her something to check on so she at least feels like she is doing something. Like Jay-Kay said though - they can be pretty slow to update if at all. Our NOA1 date is Dec 9 and we have only had one update on our case on the 10th Jan.

Tell her to hang in there! Good luck to both of you!

I set up for the USCIS email notification.

I received nothing from them the whole time. At the 5 month mark I called and was told to wait another 21 days. I waited the 21 days and called up again to initiate a service request.

That very same day I initiated the service request... the NOA-1 was approved online and updated. The email was sent to me the next day.

Go figure. *My experience anyway*

Can you please update your timeline and your profile to say either Vermont or California. The Texas Service Center does not process I-129Fs for K-1 Visas. The receipt number on the NOA1 starts with either a WAC for California or an EAC for Vermont. Sign up to be able to check your status online as advised in a previous post. Lately it's been taking over 5 -6 months to get an NOA2.

The K-1 Visa takes an average of at least 5 months to receive the NOA2. We would all die of happiness if we only had to wait 2 months!!

We are at the 6 month wait for the K1 visa.. so you got awhile yet.. we are at the Vermont one and havent heard a thing, we called last week and they were 12 days off our date so hopefully wont be long for us, but tell your partner to be patient and if you want a faster approval, maybe try California

There have been people recently that received NOA2 in anywhere from 1-2 months, but it's not common at all. Even people with valid reasons for an expedited processing typically wait at least a couple of months.

Plan on 5-6 months - if it comes earlier, it's a nice surprise... and if not, you're not let down.

I hope you guys get it soon too! However, it's not a question of petitioning at a certain service center. Everyone now mails their petition to Texas and they get sent out from there. If you live in a state that's handled by Vermont Service Center, it goes to Vermont - and if you live in a state that's handled by California Service Center, it goes to California. There are some cases that go to one or the other when one place is backed up, but that's not usually the norm.

Oh ok, we didnt actually send ours in, we went through an immigration attorny so all we know is it went to Vermont and we got all the right forms sent in haha.. and all we can do is now wait and hope everything goes smoothly.. this waiting makes u so nervous about the outcome, having your life controlled by someone else really does suck
