Help, I don't know what to do now. Here is the thing.

My mother in law just called me, she said she just got a call asking:IS XXX (my name) a household member? She speaks very little English. She didn't hear it clearly at first and she thought it was a sales call, so she said NO.

Does USCIS make that kind of phone call to anyone else? It was a computer voice, not a real person. All she can remember are the word HOUSEHOLD and my NAME in that call.

It is weird if that was USCIS. Because we don't live with her. I didn't put her number in any part of my application. My husband lived there 2 years ago. and he doesn't use that number any more.

I filed my application on Jan 30.

Got 4 receipts on Feb 7.

Did fingerprint on Feb 22.

Nothing happened after that.

I am so worried..........please help me.

Nothing to worry about. USCIS would never call computerised. I do wonder what it's about but doubt it's immigration related.

USCIS might CALL but it would be a real person (and I've heard of this maybe once or twice) typically it would be an in-person visit if they doubt you and your husband live together (again rare but DOES happen).

I wouldn't be so sure. . .we had our cell phone in the car. . thought it was best that way. . we were kept waiting for about 1 1/2 hour . .when we arrive back home. . .we live with my mother-in-law, because she is not able to be living alone. . . and she had been freaking out. our appointment was for 11. . .she received a call from USIS around 11:30 and they asked where we were if we had left etc, where we had gone, . . and then told her that we had not come to the appointment and that they were concerned. . .we were sitting there waiting-remember?? And of course they knew we were there.

Such actions are irresponsible and reprehensible.

thanks a lot.

It is really weird because i never include that number in any of my applications. They checked the phone number of my husband's old address? Why they are so sure that house is his family's.

It was probably a debt collector using an automated dunning call system. I get those frequently for some guy I've never even heard of.
