Florida currently has more concealed-carry permit holders than any other state, with 1,269,021 issued as of May 14, 2014

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Why do liberals hate Americans?

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Yep. The whole argument that illegals are doing jobs Americans won't do doesn't hold water. Any industry where you have a relatively large number of illegal aliens employed also employs Americans and lawful residents. The latter two actually make up the vast majority of the workforce in those industries. There just isn't a job that an American won't do - any claim to the contrary is a lie.

I'm a liberal, kind of, although I'm also a fiscal conservative.

I won't claim that illegal immigrants won't do jobs that Americans won't do. I would claim that Americans won't do jobs that are paid way under minimum wage. Yet, if the illegal immigrants are not available to do these jobs anymore, the employers have no other choice than to hire Americans or lawful residents.

It will cost them more, it will thus either reduce their profits or even increase the price of the product itself, but that's the price we, the American public and the consumers, have to be willing to pay if we want to see illegal labor to disappear.

I am.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Its not a liberal/conservative issue. Anyone that harps on that rant is only displaying their inadequate level of particular hackery because that is all they can manage to get from their brain at any given moment.

Common sense needs to be practiced, even though it will be contrary to most profit margins, and even though it is something that logically goes against an unregulated market that has only one bottom line: profitability at the expense of everything else.
