My fiance and I are wondering if we really need to submit snail mail letters together with I-129F petition. We have chats on a daily basis on yahoo messenger and skype. Is this good enough for evidence?

Based on VJ K-1 Visa Guide, we need to submit 2 to 4 types of evidence? Please help us clear out our confusion... THanks a bunch! Sorry I keep posting questions, hopefully when we're done with this we can share answers and experiences..

My fiancee and I sent letters back and forth via Fedex (at $80 a piece) for about 3 months during the beginning of our relationship. We sent the carbon copy receipts with our packet for whatever added influence they might have - maybe some, maybe none. "Types of evidence" refers to types of documentation - letters, emails, itineraries, credit card receipts, call logs, chat logs, pictures. Keep in mind that establishing PRIMARY proof of having met in the last 2 years is almost always passport stamps and boarding passes (if available) - everything else is SECONDARY evidence. Cover your bases and send whatever you have without going overboard. You should be good!

We included quite a few photocopys of cards and envelopes from things we sent each other, even a couple of small packages were scanned and included too. We didn't include any originals but I brought them to the interview just in case.

My fiancee and I sent some post cards and holiday cards to each other. She took these to her interview at the embassy and they actually looked at these and asked some questions about them. It seemed they really liked seeing them. They never looked at the e-mails and chat info that she brought.

It is not necessary to submit Proof of Ongoing Relationship with the I-129F petition. All that is required is to submit proof of having met in person (been together physically) within the last two years: Photocopies of entry stamps in a Passport, boarding passes, hotel receipts, etc. may satisfy this requirement.

There are some of the belief that "Front-loading" the petition i.e. including proof of ongoing relationship with the I-129F is beneficial at embassies that are known not to accept the submission of evidence at the time of the beneficiary's interview and then claim that there is inadequate proof of a relationship. It can do no harm to include Proof of Ongoing Relationship with the I-129F petition. However, you may wish to limit it to a few items, such as recent phone records, emails, and photographs.

At the time of the interview for the K-1 visa, it is prudent to have an abundance of Proof of Ongoing Relationship, although it is common for the Interviewing Officer to merely glance at a fraction of it. When my wife interviewed, she brought two grocery bags full of chat logs, emails, snail mail (including cards), photographs, etc. I thought at the time that it was a bit much, but she wanted to and she did receive the visa without incident.

It would be of benefit for your fiancé and yourself to have some snail mail going both ways (I sent back to her along with other evidence some of the cards she had sent me) to submit at the time of the interview. Does not need to be dozens of multipage correspondence, rather a sampling of a few letters or cards.

EDIT: Just noticed that you are the beneficiary. Hopefully your fiancé writes a few more letters. It doesn't matter how cheesy they may sound.

Oh ok... Darn! we've been delayed in submitting the petition coz we had to backtrack all chat logs, emails and stuff.. My fiance had printed 800 pages of them that he'd include in the packet.

Yes, I'm the beneficiary and we never sent postcards or holiday cards for the past 2 years... We're gonna do that this year.

800??? :wow: Me and my fiancé had lots of emails back and forth but we only chose what is best for each month. Like 2-4 emails by each month up until we sent the petition. We made it easy for the adjudicator to review our documents by not handing him lots of printed papers lol. Besides, I know he/she would just look on the date and wouldn't even I think read the email thoroughly. We also include snail mails that we send to each other during holidays.

But 800 would be fine though. All is good. Good luck!

I understand that now. But we were following VJ Guidelines:

"There is no minimum, but the more you can provide the less likely you are that you will receive an RFE. Additionally, please note that providing proof of your ongoing and genuine relationship in this package may benefit you by allowing the consulate to have access to this information prior to them formally contacting the non US Citizen fiance. Many high risk consulates approach cases with a skeptical eye and providing this information early on in the original I-129F package will help them in their preliminary review of your case."

And do you know what will happen if you send 800 they will look at 6 maybe and toss the rest.:bonk: They do not have time to be looking at all that stuff and to be honest as said before you do not have to show all this now 129f is that you have met in the last 2 years and your letter of intent to marry. You know we never sent stuff like that in at all, have to admit my now husband forgot to add anything LMAO but we RFE;s and we sent 8 pics and letter of how we met and 2 affadavits which is what they asked for lol, no text messageing no yahoo chats nada. And when I wnet for my interview none of that came up he looked ]at some of the pics again adn asked how we met and had I met his parents and our kids and such. So don't over send that is crazy looks more like your trying to prove something to them than just apply for a fiance/ee visa. Sorry just my opinion. I know if I was a USCIS staff I would just put yours on a pile and look at it when I had more time. So the more precise you are the better is my thinking. Definite information adn to the point. READ USCIS instructions

I submitted our b-day, valentines, Christmas etc cards in our 129F, maybe 6 total. Not sure of the influence it had on our approval but it can't hurt. I mainly used these to increase the variety of support material.

Best wishes
