Hey all..

I just received information from the automated system that my case was completed on march 4th....now what??? What happens now??? What should I expect???

That's great news!!! Congrats!

Now, the NVC will transfer your case file to the appropriate embassy. If my understanding is correct, the NVC should have provided an interview date. With the spousal visas, since we work closely with the NVC (unlike the finace visas) they are supposed to set up the appointment.

If I were you, I would call the NVC on Monday (I always call at night after 9pm ET...I only wait like 5 minutes or no waiting at all) and find out your interview date. The embassy, once they receive your case file and review it, should contact the visa applicant (your spouse) about having the medical exam. They should be sending your spouse a packet of paperwork. It may be more secure for the spouse to physically go by and pick up the paperwork depending on the mail system in that particular country.

VJ has information about the the different consulates/embassies and if you go back to the website where you paid your IV bill, on the link they give you for the paperwork, there is a link for interview preparation and also a chance to specify your consulate/embassy because each has their specifics of what they require.

Hope this helps...if I made a mistake, I'm sure someone will correct me, but I have been reading about this lately while waiting for the NVC to finally approve our case as well.

Good luck!

Like the above poster said, now you wait for the interview date to be assigned. You can call the NVC and speak to an operator to see if the case was really finalized and if there is a date set already.

I don't think that the petitioner receives copies of the packets. You may want to have her scan and email you to documents in the packet or fedex you a copy so you can review...let me know what happens as I would like to know as well.

Hello there. Did you sign up to get email updates? Our case was completed on Feb. 14th and we missed the interviewing scheduling for that month. This past Monday night, I received and email from NVC with the appointment date for the interview, list of what to my wife needs to bring to her interview and they also gave us a checklist of what they have received (police cert, birth cert etc...) stating if it's sufficient or needs to be brought to the interview. Previously on many of my calls to NVC, I asked if anything will actually be sent to her house by mail and they said no since we signed up to receive info and updates by email. All she has to bring are more evidence, the medical, her passport, pictures and her pretty self to the interview. I'm booking my ticket this week to go be with her and sit in front of the Embassy ready to do blackflips when she comes out with that smile. Keep calling the NVC. They told me scheduling only takes place during the second week of the month and we received our notice the second day of March. Good Luck !!!
