My AOS is over 4 months, what should I do

Hi everybody, I filed my I-485 in November 2010, and still got nothing.Can I use the infopass to expedite the process? Any suggestion will be appreciated!

Nope, it happens when it happens.

EAD and AP will allow work and travel while it is in process, you can renew them at no charge should it go longer than a year.

If you needed to leave the US (so get your AP) or you needed your EAD (if you don't have it already) you could request an expedite with appropriate evidence. It MIGHT be approved and it might not.

You cannot expedite the GC process though. You can call your senator/congressman if it's taking too long but usually that's if it's been after 6 months. They won't expedite but they will enquire about what's taking so long.

Thank you all. The reason I need the green card is to apply for the TAP(tuition assistance program)as soon as possible. I am the international student, the tuition now is extremely expensive.

What is your local office? If you fill in your timeline it will be easier for people to give advice that pertains more specifically to you. You are still within the normal range, some offices are taking longer than others. Once you fill in your timeline you can look for similar timelines and see how long it is taking for other people in your area.
