Passport photo size

6 posts in this topic

Sorry for all the questions tonight - I'm SO CLOSE to filing!

The passport-style photo specifications state to use a 2" x 2" photo, but the passport photos that my fiancé sent me are 1.75" x 1.75". Will the USCIS care about the exact size since they're not being used for an official document? I'm pretty sure he got them done at an actual passport photo place, so I don't know why they're not the right size. :/

Our Timeline:

Not all countrys use the US size passport photos. Generally when getting them done in another country you have to be specific as to the size you need or they will use the generic size that their country follows.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

My wife also got her photos at a typical passport photo shop in her country. They were approximately 1.5" x 2.5" with a pale blue background - not 2" x 2" with a white background. USCIS accepted them without problems with the I-129F petition.

We went to a proper passport photo shop in the US for the AOS application photos. Those were the correct size and background color.

The ones my Fiance sent were the same I took them to a local photography place and they made then the right size. I dont know if that is considered altering or not but hopefully it works. It was alot cheaper then paying for another overnight shipment and waiting 3 or 4 days. Daniel

USCIS will definitely accept the wrong size with a visa petition but are you saying the HCMC Consulate and medical facility ALSO accepted the wrong size? Are you certain?
