As much as we want to believe that NVC is all good, they are getting bogged down big time.

Who knows, they must have huge stacks of petitions by now.

I have only waited 11 days and don't expect much for a while.

I am curious who is waiting for "NVC receipt" and how long ago USCIS approved your petition?

The information may offer some insight into further waiting.

My K-3 was approved August 14th when I called on this Tuesday August 28th they had just assigned the new case number and said it was waiting to be completed. They had no idea how long that would take or even what needs to be done so I will call back on Friday and see if they have anything new to tell me.

When I called last Friday I got some JERK that told me I should not bother calling back until at least mid-september, but a person I had talked to earlier in the week said about 2 to 4 weeks to get to the NVC and and another 2 to 4 weeks to get to the embassy...she seemed to be more correct so far.

Good Luck,

Michele

OUR K-3 INTERVIEW WAS ON NOV. 1ST @ 10:00!!!

VISA APPROVED!!!

WE ARRIVE IN THE USA ON NOV. 10TH!!!

It's not NVC that is slow. It's the service center. Some just send them to NVC quicker. And also once again in the case of Vermont there is an added plus - they are actually physically closer to the NVC than other service centers.

Thanks Becca, appreciate your input. The service centers are definitely a larger part of the problem.

However, NVC is definitely loaded up with approved petitions. That has to slow things down somewhat.

AS an aside, the NVC section of VJ is rather void of posters, isn't it? people read, but do not post very much.

Seems K-1 and "Off Topic" are the hot zones. The entire page changes in a matter of minutes. Here it takes days or more than a week.

I was approved on July 31, 2006 And my case was at NVC by 08-04-06 and recieved by the embassy by 08-11-06. So i guess it all depends on luck when you deal with these people. Goodluck.

I was reapproved on August 16, NVC had it on August 21. No letter yet, but when I called in, I was told it was mailed out on August 25, of course the embassy has yet to receive it. So I guess that means it's still sitting in the NVC mail room or on some jerks desk... I thought once it would get to NVC it would be faster and end this torture, but I guess that was too good to be true.

I just want my petition out of the USA! Maybe my petition is waiting to be issued a visa to be allowed to enter Poland, haha well at least that is what I am choosing to believe!

Our application was approved on Aug 18th and yesterday we called the NVC and a very nice man gave us a case number and said someone was working on it, so hopefully it get shifted out of NVC and onto Montreal ASAP.

Perhaps things will pick up as fall approaches and there are fewer people on summer holidays and christmas is coming up and overtime looks more appealing.
