Oath Ceremony-Today

Good Evening All.

I just wanted to share my experience today. My oath was scheduled at 9:15 am. It was held downtown at a federal court house building. I arrived around 9:00 am and waited in line to get through security (approx 20 min).

Prior to entering the room we were asked to turn in our Oath notice and Green Card. The person who collected those items asked if all of the questions answered on the back of the notice were correct. He then gave me a sheet with the actual Oath, a copy of the Citizens Almanac, a passport application, and some informational items. There were about 90 to-be citizens with about 150 including family. The supervisor then entered the room and gave a brief introductory speech. He then announced the judge. Before the judge began he had a retired police officer sing the Anthem. He then gave a very nice and informative speech on the history of citizens, and the importance of being one. Once the speech concluded, he made us all rise and say the oath.

Once complete, they announced each new citizen one-by-one and presented them with their Naturalization Certificate. The judge handed them out and congratulated each new citizenJ. It took about 2 hour’s total. All in all, it was a great day and I am truly happy to be done with this process and finally a United States CitizenJ.

Good luck to all on who are on their journey.

Jax

Congratulations! What a nice sounding Oath Ceremony - I like when they name the individuals individually and present them with their certificates - it is so much more personal for such an important occasion.
