When I told hubby what MA was best at he said that was the best thing to be best at. I agree!

But everyone tells me that the best armed populations are always the safest. When everyone is armed, there is no crime and no one ever needs to call 9-1-1 for anything, not even medical emergencies.

Too bad last year my 11 year old cousin shot himself in the neck and died while out hunting with his father. Also, a man a few miles away from me went crazy and shot his wife for something ridiculously stupid, and then turned the gun on himself. So no, guns don't make people safe. Guns give crazy people and younger children with access to them more chances cause a tragedy. But thanks for the sarcasm anyways!

Interesting when you correlate some examples of what a state is best at with what is it worst at.

- Vermont - lowest poverty and highest corporate taxes (pay attention republicans!)

- Colorado - most cocaine use and lowest obesity (a revolutionary new diet?)

- S. Carolina - golf holes per capita and most mobile homes (gotta be ready to move)

- Alabama - most church attendance and most strokes (you know what they say about too much religion)

- Louisiana -biggest port and most gonorrhea (yep)

- New York - highest daily commute and most transit use (go figure)

- Maine - dumbest state and least violent crime ( I don't trust statistics from the dumbest state)

- Ohio - nerdiest state and highest library use (chicken or egg theory in action?)

- ND - ugliest residents and lowest unemployment (who would want to stay at home?)

- Oklahoma - most female criminals and best license plates (women are often more creative this way)

and finally

- Utah - highest porn usage and greatest well being (don't need a map to figure that out)
