Hi guys,

I am about to send my I-134 form with all the supporting documents to my fiance once I get my NO2, but I am afraid it might not get there on time if I don't select the right courier..

Last time I shipped to him, it took USPS more than a month to deliver the package (when they said it would take 5 to 10 days).

I just checked DHL, and they gave me a quote - $140!

Does anyone have any suggestions/thoughts/comments?

Thanks!!

Thank you so much for your input, Carolyn.

I am thinking of sending him the package right now.. and later i'll just email him the NO2. I'll try using FedEx this time, and we will see how that will turn out. =)

I just got a quote from USPS.. it's $30 for an express international delivery (3-5 business days), which includes insurance cost.. this is so far the cheapest price I have found.. but again, how reliable is their service? As Ashex suggested, I should not even consider USPS.

Which one do you want,. the fastest or the cheapest?

I can only speak of deliveries to Russia, but I found DHL to be the fastest, getting to any major city there in 3 days.

Fed Ex is a little cheaper, but that takes 5 days.

USPS hands it over to the Russian Post Office when it gets there, so forget about them, at least to Russia.

I can deal with 5 days.. even 10 days! So you guys are suggesting to completely avoid USPS.

Thanks for all your advice!

Kyrg does not have the infrastructure that Russia has, so FedEx might be more than 5 days.

DHL is the king of international delivery, and FedEx is just a wannabe.

So please look before you leap.

It could be different with Iran, but with Russia, FedEx takes 5 days and DHL is only 3. DHL costs more though, $110 compared to $80.

USPS is fine within the US. However, outside the US, once the package is delivered to the destination country, the service is only as good as the postal service of that country. I had no problems having documents delivered through the mail, but things of value, that could supplement the meager postal carriers wages, sometimes didn't make it to the final destination.

See if you can fax the documents to your fiancee, and whether or not the local consulate/embassy will accept fax copies. Most international carriers subcontract local delivery by the way, so you want to know who is the reliable carrier for the destination country.
