I got approved on Friday! YAY! My fiance is set to come pick me up in a week and a half, and we'll be leaving the following Sunday =D

My experience with the interview in Montreal:

Booked my interview early January/late December for January 21st, at 8:30am. Took the train the night before and booked a room at hotel right down the street.

Morning of:

I showed up at 8:00, stood in line for a bit in the entrance. Showed my passport, went through security and showed my letter. Headed upstairs and showed my letter, went over to the window and was given a ticket for the call order, and this is also where I would've paid the fee if I hadn't done it in advance. After that, it was an hour of waiting.

I finally get called, they check over my papers, make sure everything is right and they took my medical exam envelope and my updated letter of intent. I had already sent in everything else with my packet 4 because I was unsure which things they wanted mailed, but they had all of it there. They didn't take the chest x-ray though, so now I have this giant x-ray print out, I think I might frame it =D. They then took my fngerprints, and I was told to head back and wait to be called again.

This took another couple of hours, I think I waited about 2 and a half hours total. The interview itself was very quick, the questions were, "Where does your finace live (followed by "You're moving to Arkansas? Are you SURE?" lol), what's he do for a living, what are you planning on doing for work when you're there, when did you guys meet?" and that's all I can remember. She took my fingerprints again, and said that as long as I hadn't been deported (I hadn't, but I had been turned away at the border, which was my big worry throughout this process) and we weren't already married (we aren't) then I was good to go! She handed me a piece of paper detailing what would happen when we crossed the border, how to pick up my visa, etc. and that was that! Overall, it took maybe 5 minutes, and I'm estatic to finally have it behind me. =D

Hope this is useful to anyone else with an upcoming interview in Montreal!

K-1 Visa Process

Total time between mailing of I-29F and recieving visa: 249 days (8 months, 4 days)

2010-05-27: Mailed I-29F

2010-06-07: NOA1; I-29F Recieved

2010-09-21: NOA2; I-29F Approved

2010-10-02: Recieved Packet 3 in mail

(5 week wait for police background check)

2010-11-26: Mailed Packet 3 through DHL

2010-11-29: Packet 3 recieved by consulate

2010-12-11: Packet 4 sent from consulate

2010-12-26: Packet 4 recieved and interview booked!

2011-01-04: Medical exam in Toronto

2011-01-21: Interview in Montreal; APPROVED!

2011-01-31: Visa recieved

2011-02-04: Fiance coming to Canada for visit before we leave

2011-02-07: US entry date!

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
