That is the usual time, as you need a receipt number to request the expedite.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

It depends on the reason for the expedite? You need a very good reason, usually military deployment.

you have NOA-1 in hand, so must call into USCIS, get Tier 2 Human,

then

explain all

then follow, to the letter, the instructions given to you by Tier 2 human.

DO NOT MUCK ABOUT with a Tier 1 Human, a CSR, at all.

Get a Tier 2 Human, an ISO.

I am wanting to start the expediting process as well. I received my NOA-1 last week, but when i call USCIS and put in my receipt number (automated system) it tells me it "cannot be found at this time." I have called and called and called. There is no extension to speak with a real person.

Darnell.....what do you mean by a tier-2 and how do you reach them?

I was first told i had to wait until my NOA-1 was past the 5 month mark

I filed mine and they sent me this confirmation number WTC02011027XXTSC

and now I'm waiting for the reply.

But I guess its who you talk to. My attorney got it off and this was

the info back after talking to them and he faxed the medical documents

from Social Security and the Veteran Department for proof with my medical

doctor's letter stating why. It depends on TSC if they approve it or not.

Then to NVC and to the US Embassy in Kyiv. Since I'm living here is wont

be hard to get the US Embassy to approve or not, it's a pretty rock solid

case my attorney and he told me he seen peolple with less problems

get approved. So time will tell soon.

Good Luck :thumbs::innocent:

Anyway Good Luck

I tier 2 level supervisior is the person higher than the person you will speak with on the phone when you call. If you can get a level 1 person to transfer you to the a tier 2 person they usually have a little more info. But it's not always the case. Some times if you can get the first person you talk to you even transfer you to them your doing good. Many level 1 persons wont get to them at all, you have to just keep calling until you get somebody to get you to one. or they hanhg up on you, Being pokite helps but not always the case..they still can be rude or bad person talking tio you.

Good Luck

Well, within one week i received a notice that our petition to expedite was denied. The reason given, was that we did not qualify within the guidelines. I never received the form to fill out to state my case. I just talked to a representative on the phone and explained briefly my circumstances. After we talked, he told me i would receive a letter within a week with the answer. When i asked about the form to fill out, he stated that he had written down everything i said and would pass it on. He never asked me any questions or asked me to clarify anything i said. In my opinion i doubt seriously that he was able to type everything that i said as fast as he did. For anyone wanting to expedite, make sure you get a form to fill out. It was doubtful that we would have been approved anyway, but i think if i could have shown our reasons "on paper", there might have been a better chance for approval. Good luck to everyone else.

The reasons usually have to be severe in order to be granted an expedite.

My wife and I had our I-130 petition expedited. After she called to place the service request, she received an email requesting medical proof (doctors letters) be faxed to a specific officer.

I'm not sure what criteria you were attempting to expedite under, but sounds like you should have been given more of a chance.

USCIS California Service Center

10-NOV 2010 - I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

16-NOV 2010 - NOA1 Received

22-NOV 2010 - Service Request for Expedite

10-DEC 2010 - Faxed medical proof to USCIS

17-DEC 2010 - I-130 Approved

27-DEC 2010 - NOA2 Received

National Visa Center

29-DEC 2010 - NVC case number assigned

01-JAN 2011 - Emailed expedite request to NVC

14-JAN 2011 - Expedite approved. Case forwarded to U.S. embassy

25-JAN 2011 - Medical Exam

U.S. Embassy

25-JAN 2011 - Packet 3 received

02-FEB 2011 - Sent DS-230 & DS-2001

18-FEB 2011 - Interview 8:30 AM - APPROVED

Port of Entry

14-MAR 2011 - POE Atlanta
