thanks to everybody for making this web a place to source ideas and help.i just join this group and want to know what are some of the things they can used to disqualify my wife should i file for her

Insufficient evidence of bonafide marriage (although this is often the catch-all term used for when the CO believes the marriage is fraudulant)

Not really being married - as in a divorce was not final before the marriage took place, marriage by-proxy (although I recently saw this overcome)

IMBRA - certain crimes disqualify YOU, the petioner, from filing

Drug or gang related offences of the beneficiary

that's all I can think of right now

however, often they will not out-right deny the visa application. They will give you an amount of time to gather evidence.

Don't think of the things the can disqualify you as much as just proving that your marriage is real and you and your spouse qualify for the visa... We all take a chance, all you can really do it file for the visa and pray that it is granted... Do all that you can to make sure all the evidence is real and sufficient...

Who is "they"...USCIS or the consulate? There are different phases of the process and different options to chose from in order to receive permission for your wife to join you in the US, to reside here. Please read the applicable sections of the Guides in order to gain more information on the visa process.

if the relationship is true and bonafide no need to worry about the disqualifications just gather everything and make the case air tight with supporting documents and you will be ok...Just have a lot of patience because they are a little back logged in Ghana right....

Not entirely true...having a drug offense, or one of moral turpitude or having a communicable disease are all scenarios that make one ineligible for a visa, yet have no bearing on the veracity or the bona-fide nature of the relationship. For example, you can have a drug smuggling conviction still be in a true and loving bonafide relationship...you just can't have a visa to come live in the US.
