Boy, Darnell, you have been busy posting today. My fiancee has since received and returned her packet 3 and we are waiting for her packet 4 and interview.I noticed you disappeared for about 6 weeks, but lets be honest, the world still kept rotating.Life goes on. I hope you had fun during your time off from the board here. I know you aren't really an employee of the VJ Board, but during my first 2 months here, you were a daily poster. Then nothing.Glad to see you back. Bill

LGC, Have you heard anything from the consulate? It has been a month since we sent back Packet 3 and still no packet 4. My Fiancee is getting dispondent. She is talking about the cold in Taishan. I cann't believe that they don't have heat in the homes or stores in Taishan. I am suprised they aren't freezing to death. Idaho is cold, but at least everyone has furnaces and heaters. I keep trying to get my Fiancee to buy a space heater and she says they don't have such things in China. I thought that was where all our space heaters were made. Bill

SpeedyTax - are you calling DoS on occassion? at this stage - you should -

as they'll know all status, even the 'appointment date set' thingie that is 'made' prior to sending out the P4 packet.

Please review http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

Dodi's posted 'how to call' and further down (ya, keep scanning) I've posted WHAT YOU CAN GET, and from whom.

Good Luck !

Darnell, I called DOS and they say nothing scheduled yet,

And LGC, yes, My Fiancee has a cold right now too. She bought a hot water bottle and she was in heaven. She loved it, I told her she would love a space heater too. But as you say, she says the electricity would be too expensive. I have offered to pay, but she thinks it would be a waste. I guess you cann't miss anything that you never had. I was hoping she would be here by Valentines Day, but I guess not. Thanks Bill

let me make a different suggestion for you - for 'the surprise'

she's gonna be at Guangzhou, the IV Unit that day - so

engage the Yang Family to spend some time with her after the interview, in the afternoon -

ie

tell yer lass to meet up with Mrs. Yang immediately after the interview

and

pay the Yang's to prepare a meal there, and give her any gift you wish to give her.

There are fees involved, but are minimal -

The good thing about the Yangs - is that their mini-hotel IS IN the same building as GUZ IV UNIT. Tianhe Phase II.

we've Yang contact info over at http://www.chinafamilyvisa.com
