Question to December group:

My wife had her interview and was told at the conclusion she passed March 14th. This was two weeks before her 3-year green card residency made her eligible for a decision. At the conclusion of the interview the examiner said she passed, but could not make a decision until last Saturday, the 26th, her 3-year anniversary + 1 day.

Of course we are eager to complete the naturalization process, so we hoped to see an on-line update by now. It is still "Testing and Interview," not "Decision" as we hoped.

My wife wants to travel early this Summer with an American passport, so we don't want to waste time.

Should we call USCIS's customer service at 800-375-5283? Or are we being too eager? If we do call the customer service number, is there a best way to get through the system to talk to a human?

Thank you! BTW: We stopped off at the post office and filed for an expedited passport on the way home from the ceremony. Ten days to two weeks, we end our VisaJourney that began December 2006.

I think you can wait a couple of more weeks. I wish they were that fast but from other cases I saw where they passed interview before the 3 year rule, it usually took about 2 to 3 weeks after the 3rd anniversary for them to receive a notification.

As per the online status update, ignore that. Mine still shows RFE (biometrics) even though I have already passed the test. I also heard from other folks here that already took the oath and the status still show as interview and testing.

If you wanna talk to a human, just input your application number then keep saying "Operator" or "Representative" until the system transfers you to a human. The first person who talks to you is gonna read your online status and will not be helpful at all. keep asking him/her questions like " How come....?" and "I'm worried that something is missing from my file...who can help?" then you will be transferred again to a higher level Officer who will have full access to your file and will give you all the info you need. hope this helps. Good luck

If you wanna talk to a human, just input your application number then keep saying "Operator" or "Representative" until the system transfers you to a human. The first person who talks to you is gonna read your online status and will not be helpful at all. keep asking him/her questions like " How come....?" and "I'm worried that something is missing from my file...who can help?" then you will be transferred again to a higher level Officer who will have full access to your file and will give you all the info you need. hope this helps. Thanks to all for your replies. I guess I should wait a couple more weeks before I get antsy. This is what I thought, but I want to get other VJ'rs input.

To be sure she can meet her friends and family on time in Ukraine this Summer, we should investigate her getting a Shenzhen visa to carry with her. It's a PITA, but she will be able to travel to Italy, France, and Budapest as planned.

Did you heard back any thing from the santa Ana office about the oath. I also had my interview in Sanat Ana on feb22nd but still have'nt received Oath letter. I guess the next Oath cermeony is on 26 april. Please update when you received your oath letter.

Hi bradcanuck,

Did you heard back any thing from the santa Ana office about the oath. I also had my interview in Sanat Ana on feb22nd but still have'nt received Oath letter. I guess the next Oath cermeony is on 26 april. Please update when you received your oath letter.

When I called the CS i used the " i don't know the receipt number option" and I was transferred to a real person and I told her that I wanted to talk to an officer. He was able to give me the latest update on my status..

Congratulation NycBra, You are now on your final step to become citizen.

I got one letter today regarding my last call about the RFE status. It says that was a USCIS error. Well, that was OK because we know all these things, while discussing in this forum. The other sentence on the letter says my application is currently pending and will be worked in the order it was received. Well, I already have my interview letter. What they trying to say?

12/17/2010 -- N400 Sent to Phoenix, AZ

12/22/2010 -- Application Received

12/23/2010 -- Notice of Application

12/23/2010 -- Check Cashed

01/10/2011 -- Biometric notice (date on letter)

01/28/2011 -- FP done

02/14/2011 -- Yellow letter (date on letter)

03/18/2011 -- Testing and interview (online status)

03/18/2011 -- Interview letter sent (date on letter)

03/21/2011 -- Interview letter received

05/03/2011 -- Interview date

Hi dakota9,

If you already have your interview letter, I would not worry about anything else until then. Just go to your interview appointment at the date, time and place stated in the letter.

USCIS is very messy and disorganized, and the status updates that you can sign-up online very often doesn't work (I already got my oath letter and it still shows as interview and testing).

I am getting concerned. Until today I still haven't received the interview letter. It seems that everybody else did. May I ask ED*Riza who also filed in Atlanta, how did you get your interview letter so fast?

One thing to mention, my i751 process (removal on conditional PR) took longer than average also (a full 6 month). At last, I had to get the governors involved to get the USCIS to move on my case.

Aug 2001 - Enter US on B2 visiting visa

July 2002 - Enrolled in school, obtained F1 Visa

Sept 2007 - Married

Nov 2007 - File for GC

Feb 2008 - Interview - approved

Mar 2008 - received 2 year conditional GC.

11/30/2009 - Applied for ROC

12/15/2009 - received NOA, NOA date 12/10/2009

1/15/2010 - FP appointment

1/17/2010 - LUD

4/18/2010 - Previous I765 LUD

Still waiting...
