N 400 December 2010 applications

so I FINALLY got all my police clearance records after a month of submitting all the requests.

So, now that I have done the job that USCIS should have done with my $80 biometrics fee, I just submitted all documents to the citizenship branch.

I am hoping (more like praying) that they send my oath letter/schedule soon....

and for those who are wondering.... there was no records of any crimes or citations from all cities I have lived since 2007.

Hey safroot, I was hoping we would "meet" during the oath ceremony but I don't think I will get my schedule for March. I am hoping I will be scheduled for April. Fingers crossed!

There you go, i'm glad you got everything worked out and i hope they will approve your case right away once they see that. yea i know it's close but you never know, you might be the last one they schedule for that March 23rd appointment, if not then there is one on April 13th, i'm sure it will be no later than that.

Your RFE is the biometric and since you already received your yellow letter you are now waiting for your interview.

Don't worry about the status online . Sometimes they are not updated.

You will receive your interview letter shortly .

Still no Oath letter, and the 24th is coming fast. Looks like I will be in April after all. Very frustrating/upsetting. I have to fly down to go to the oath. Waste of time and money.

Some received it in 2 weeks or more. Some did not receive yellow letter just like me. I got interview letter 34 days after my biometric not considering other IL with descheduled letters as well.

Our Interview Experience at USCIS' Indianapolis Facility:

We arrived at the 950 Meridian Center at 10:15 and parked in front of the building in the building's small lot, $5. There was only one space open, which we found and parked in quickly. When we left, there were several cars waiting to enter as parked cars left. How quickly you can park seems to dependent on when you arrive, plus some luck.

We went through a security screening similar to those at airports with light security. That is, empty pockets and open bags, then get wanded.

The men's and women's toilets are available AFTER going through security. Nothing is available until you have gone to the 4th floor and passed security. If you need to use the facilities, make a stop at a nearby McD's, ... Burger King, wherever. There is no telling how long it will take to park and then go through security.

Tania's interview was scheduled at 10:40 AM, we checked in 15 minutes early at 10:25. We waited until 10:50, i.e., 10 minutes late.

I asked the examiner if I could accompany my wife for moral support and to help with documents. She said "No, we will be only a few moments."

The interview went off without a snag, Tania passed the reading, writing, and six U.S. government questions easily. The reading portion was to read a simple sentence that was written. The writing question was similar, Tania was asked to write down a sentence the examiner spoke to her.

She said the examiner was nice, professional, easy going, and pleasant. Tania came out waiving a signed sheet with a BEEG BEEG smile saying she passed! (I never had a doubt)

We came prepared with an armload of documents, mostly the originals and copies of the originals if we needed to give anything to the examiner. The examiner didn't ask to look at anything.

She took Tania's USSR internal passport, and her Ukrainian international passport as well. She thumbed through them, then handed them back. I guess this is because Tania may need them before she gets a chance to get a U.S. passport. They will probably ask for one or both passports later, maybe at the oath ceremony.

The examiner said she can't make a decision until March 25, because Tania is not "eligible" until then. This we knew because March 25th is her 3rd anniversary after receiving her green card. This is only a formality, of course.

The examiner also said the oath ceremony would take place four to eight weeks from today. I'm guessing Tania will turn in her international passport then, and maybe her internal USSR passport as well.

So, we wait about two weeks until the 25th for a decision, then up to six weeks more for the oath!!

"Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

Your case has been transferred to a local office and an interview will be scheduled......"

Now the wait for the interview letter.

She won't need to turn in her passports at the oath, only the Green CArd. The only government authorized to request a passport back is the government that issued that passport. Which means US has no authority over her USSR and Ukranian passports. I wouldn't even bring them to the oath ceremony! As long as she has another valid photo ID and her original green card. At the oath they will collect and take her green card away and give her the naturalization certificate.

OK here is my turn to share my interview experience at Houston Office. I had 3 or 4 interviews since i came to the states all of them work related but this 1 was the easiest i ever had.

The officer was so nice, she asked me to stand up raise my right hand and put me under oath , the i sat down she verified the information in my n400 but very quickly and she did not go over all of them she asked me about the situation in Egypt then showed me a picture on papyrus paper she got from there. The officer was so nice. She had a medical condition and the asked me about it , we discussed her treatment options ,she was so glad about me trying to help her.

Then she said let us go over the civics test she asked 6 questions:

1- The name of National Anthem.

2- ocean in west coast

3- The 13 flag stripes

4- 9/11 events

5- how old citizens can vote for president

6- Rule of law

She had me read How many senators do we have?

And she asked me to write We have one hundred senators.

She gave me a paper stating that i came and was approved, then asked me to wait outside to get my ceremony letter.

30 minutes later i got it for March 23.

Testing and Interview
