Have you read the instructions for the 864EZ? If so you would see the requirements.

You have asked about a joint sponsor is other posts. The EZ cannot be used in conjunction with a joint sponsor.

Read I-864EZ instruction properly.

You will not qualify for it, since you have a joint sponsor.

So if you don't need a joint sponsor then you only need I-864EZ correct?

It is this way.

You may use Form I-864EZ if ALL the following conditions apply:

1. You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on the Form I-130 petition;

3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).

OP's I-864EZ's test on the 3rd condition fails.

Why did you choose I-864, just out of curiosity?

Though all my income was from W-2, and this income was more than sufficient to cover the poverty line threshold, there was a "small amount" in the year 2008 which was a part-time work's income declared in 1099.

So, I didn't want to take the risk based on the 3rd test of I-864EZ.
