Hello ever one my name is gladys and i met a guy in Jamacia in Aug. while on vacation. Since then I have visited him twice. He wants to come here to the USA to visit me but he doesn't have a visa. He works but doesn't have a lot of money, no land, home or bank account. Will it be difficult for him to get a visitor visa. Suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

More than likely, it will be very difficult for him to get a visitor's visa - he has to prove that he does not have intent to immigrate - which is shown by owning land, a bank account, a letter from his employer stating his return date, etc... Also, he needs to show that he has enough money to support himself while he is in the US -

It's not a given that he will be denied, but highly likely - it's a crapshoot with JA - we have seen people get visas who had nothing, we have seen others that had all that they need get denied.

I am sure he wants to visit but beware hey Gladys and don't go marrying him to get him to USA. And if he does not have an address to return to or able to pay for his trip while here then not likely.

Was wondering who was going to correct that ignorant statement. Well said Sus. There are people and horror stories from EVERYWHERE! Also, you gave the best answer in response to the question, so you were adding positively to the thread, unlike some people.

The only chance we know for certain is that it is zero if he does not apply.

Anything else could be debated, quite the point of all this, I have no idea.

Why does he not just fill the form in etc and see?

She was just asking a question so they knew what to expect/not to expect....SUS gave the best answer. In JA...there is no rhyme or reason to who gets Visitors visas...the fact that is an absolute is that no matter what...they keep your $$$ whether you get the visa or not!

Gladys, if he wants to go that routet have apply for the visitor's visa -- you won't know the outcome until he does. I have many family and friends who have applied and didn't have much ties to the island and were approved. You just don't know -- and he'll never know until he tries and he already knows (I'm sure) how difficult it is to get a visitor's visa from the embassy AND trust me you're not the only woman who have met a man while visiting JAMAICA...
