The process is not random.

They have a detailed form in front of them, we have a couple of lines of comments.

I have seen people get visa's where I thought it very unlikely and vice versa.

Most times it is reasonably obvious. It is partly subjective so there are bound to be odd ones out.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Gladys, if he wants to go that routet have apply for the visitor's visa -- you won't know the outcome until he does. I have many family and friends who have applied and didn't have much ties to the island and were approved. You just don't know -- and he'll never know until he tries and he already knows (I'm sure) how difficult it is to get a visitor's visa from the embassy AND trust me you're not the only woman who have met a man while visiting JAMAICA...

Thanks for taking the time to responding to my post. Just wonder what the odds are, didn't want to waste time and money. We are going to take the relationship futher, but we also wanted to do things the right way. And beleive me I'm not offended by the comment, about Jamacia men.I don't care where we meet. I'm just glad we met.

Nobody can tell you the odds of his application being successful.

More than likely, it will be very difficult for him to get a visitor's visa - he has to prove that he does not have intent to immigrate - which is shown by owning land, a bank account, a letter from his employer stating his return date, etc... Also, he needs to show that he has enough money to support himself while he is in the US -

It's not a given that he will be denied, but highly likely - it's a crapshoot with JA - we have seen people get visas who had nothing, we have seen others that had all that they need get denied.

Thanks for the advise but I think we are going to start with the fiance visa.

I am sure he wants to visit but beware hey Gladys and don't go marrying him to get him to USA. And if he does not have an address to return to or able to pay for his trip while here then not likely.

When I get married it will be for love, not just to help him leave Jamacia, but thanks for the advise.

BEWARE...I have heard horror stories about Jamacian men crusing resorts to find a woman so they can get out of the country...

Nothing against Jamica...I am just saying that I have heard stories...

I don't want to diappoint you are anything, but he wasn't crusing the resort we just happen to met though a friends. And by the way I've heard the talk and I ignore it. It doesn't apply to this Jamacian man. Thanks for the advise anyway.
