My wife lives in Ukraine and one of her children from other marriage (age 11) will come with her to live in US.

I have convinced myself that a separate I-130 package should be supplied for the child (although it's not clear). If that's the case, then should "G-325A filled out by the non-US Citzen child signed and dated" be provided? Should a child photograph be attached?

What exactly should be in the I-130 package for the stepchild? I can start guessing, but if anyone knows the definitive answer, I would appreciate it. Perhaps the site should have an example of such a package for everyone to see.

You need to file a seperate I-130 for the stepchild. The package should contain all the same documents as if it were being filed alone.

Submit both packages wife and child together so they will be processed together.

At the NVC stage you will need a signed and notarized letter from the biological father stating the child can immigrate to the USA permanently.

You have convinced yourself right... a separate I-130 is required for ALL intended immigrants. That is very clear.

G-325a is not needed if under 14

proof of relationship to the child for starters. Starting with your marital relationship with your wife, then to the child's BC showing your wife as mother. this shows the links to the child as your immediate relative. A to B B to C therefore A to C

proof of your citizenship.

YMMV

Also, when you get to the NVC you will only have to pay one I-864 fee for both but you are required to send two I-864 for each person and two copies of your previous year tax returns or 2 or 3 years depends what your income is for each person(I only sent 2009). I sent only one thinking that since I put my stepsons name on my wife's I-864 and that there is only one fee that I was ok, to find out 7 weeks later that I had to send them another for my stepson. The best thing to do is always ask and never assume anything because the NVC has a ton of workload and getting a RFE with 6-8 weeks waiting time is no joke.

Correction. G325a is needed for a spouse but not for a stepchild regardless of age.

Yes, separate I-130. It is your wife x 2. All documents the same including marriage certificate to the child's mother.

Not All documents the same. No G325a for the child or from the petitioner in the childes I-130 filing.

Also, it is very important for your step child.

Stepparent/Stepchild: If your petition is based on a stepparent-stepchild relationship, you must file your petition with a copy of the marriage certificate of the stepparent to the child's natural parent showing that the marriage occurred before the child's 18th birthday, copies of documents showing that any prior marriages were legally terminated and a copy of the stepchild's birth certificate.
