I'll give you the last 3, but Limbaugh is in a class much smarter and separate from them. If you actually listen to him, if you actually pay attention to what he says, he's very careful about the way he words things and how 'factual' he is. It's interesting really the way he approaches things, and it's why he still has the highest rated radio program after all of these years.

Just remember, Air America was an abysmal failure because they were horribly wrong and couldn't connect with anyone except a small kook fringe.... Limbaugh connect with Americans who work hard, have families, and are looking for a simple life with little government control in it.

While I agree with you somewhat on the 'race' part, the only factor that made the 'race' part relevant is the fact that he doesn't have in the words of Harry Reid, "negro dialect." --- Put any other guy up there who has said dialect and he would not have been elected. Put any other guy who didn't have the help of the media like he did, and he wouldn't have been elected. Jesse Jackson deserved to win back in the 80's more than Obama ever did today.

While public speaking is essential (in politics), it's not always a true gauge of intelligence.

If it were, Professors would not be nearly so boring.

When I said Obama is intelligent, I meant at least on an acceptable level one would expect from a President ..and perhaps more.

Typically the President does lose some in the mid term election......so you are right the tide would have reduced his numbers in the House.

However, Obama's experience was not a tidal move but rather a Historical Tidal wave.

It's somehow possible McCAin would felt this same effect, we will never know.

What I do know, for many, their non-vote for McCain has proved to be wildly successful.

Had we put another half conservative in the white house..... we would have been doomed for a decade or more.

It was also a historical recession.
