We went to our interview today and everything was approved. It seemed like the IO had made up his mind in advance he went over the forms and confirmed the list of I485 yes/no questions and our address and wedding date. He didn't ask any other questions, and he did not ask us to present any new evidence or originals of anything we submitted.

Today was the day ... and, from the heads-up here in advance it didn't surprise me that the IO in San Francisco did NOT tell me if my AOS was approved or not.....the IO was a bit hung up on wanting to know my previous entries to the US, especially when I was on vacation and only remembered it was around Memorial Day in 1999...

...so when I just got home I wanted to see how reliable the "touches documentation" is and to my surprise - ... "On February 3rd we ordered the production of your new card" ......WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO !!! Will post a more detailed review and experience in the Review's section here :)

A Big Thank you to all those who contributed their thoughts and experiences, knowledge for any question posted by me or by someone else who is in a similar situation like me.

Good luck to those who have their interview coming up in the next days and weeks, who just got on this journey !

At 9am I did get a person on the phone and they did confirm that the office is closed ( by that time the website was updated to Friday).

she said there is no use going there. My appointment will be rescheduled, I have to wait for another letter. I can't believe it, this has to happen to me. I hope they will reschedule soon. There were many offices closed today due to the weather.

Oh boy.... am sorry to read that you are still waiting - maybe it does put you at ease to think that maybe the processing or even just the printing and mailing is taking place somewhere in the US where those winter storms had offices closed, airplanes grounded.....you could of course call the hotline but then again, some people don't get the info out of there that they are looking for..... crossing my fingers that you get to move on real soon!!!

Folks, my interview went well this afternoon, and I was recommended for approval.

I will share with you the highlights of my interview, with the hope that it might help some of you.

Got to the USCIS office around 1:10pm this afternoon.

I was about 20 mins early for my appointment (I'm not usually that early lol).

At around 1:20pm, I got my lil backpack full of evidence out the car and my wifey and I headed to the doors for a big face-off! lol

In the waiting room there was just one more couple waiting, and not much going on.

It was kinda boring in there, so my wife and I just started talking about anything and everything, hoping that the clock will spin faster...and it did! lol

It was almost 1:45 when a nice lady in her early 50's called my name.

While I was pulling my lil backpack in the hallway she said: "I see you brought all your evidence with you"!

From that comment, I knew we ended up with the nicest lady in the whole building, and I couldn't be happier.

As we were passing this other IO's office, a young couple that was accompanied by their lawyer, and called in less than 10 mins before us were just being separated for probably the dreaded "stokes interview".

The lawyer remained in the room with the wife while she was being interrogated by the officer.

(They were still not done with her when we left the building...ouch!)

When we got in my IO's office, she swore us in, then asked us for our ID's.

Then followed a series of questions, all in a nice and relaxed atmosphere.

- Our names, date of birth, date of marriage

- Last date of entry in the US

- My original status, degree obtained and current occupation

- Couple of Yes and No questions on AOS form

- How we met (she was real impressed on how I proposed. I gotta admit I kinda went the whole nine yards with the proposal lol)

Then she took a look at the entire wedding album and some extra pictures we brought, while we were literally chatting with her.

Then she asked our future plans as a married couple, collected more evidence to add to our file, then said she was recommending us for approval and briefed us on the next steps for removal of conditions.

I was like nice!

Whoohooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The whole interview was less than 30 mins!

Now it's the beginning of a new journey.

In the meantime, I wish the best to my fellow October-filers, as well as all those who are going through the AOS process.
