Good news for you and good info for me...I may give this a shot myself in the near future...

Did you need to establish any financial "roots" for mom to demonstrate to the consulate her intentions to return home or was your I-134 and and other documentation all that was required?

Congrats!!

I am sure they are happy and having a great time!

It's always good to give it a try, you have nothing to lose, I sent an invitation last december for my sister in Law in India, I sent the invitation letter saying she's my sister in law, she's very closed to my wife, they haven't seen each other for almost a year, We would like the consulate to issue her a visa so she can be with us for the holidays, She got a 10 year multiple visit visa!

good news!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

We did transfer a larger sum to MIL prior to her applying for the visa. But nobody asked to see any proof of any ties whatsoever. They asked her if she had family (as in husband and other children) in Ethiopia - which she does not - and then they looked through the package that I prepared and told her to come back later that day to pick up the visa. It was almost too easy.

By all means, give it a try - Good Luck!

can't wait to see pics and i really can't wait to find out what you two are naming your precious little flower!!!!! no hints>!?!?!?!
