Hey guys,

Our petition for a CR1 visa is still at NVC but just really worried sick since we started filing about how to manage the tension from the interview at the consolate. I am a person that feels intimidated at interviews and dont wanna mess anything up. How do I brace myself and not feel afraid.....guessing fear of rejection is what i need to get over of but how do I do this. Even with all the evidence in the whole world I still feel I will be panicking at the interview. Any advice would help pls

Is this interview important? Yes. But, unlike most of the other interviews you might do (eg for a job) they are not testing you to see if you are the best person. It is not like a test, but rather like filling out a form. This perspective might help you to control the tension, hopefully.

take a deep breath b4 the interview and relax...just remember the questions asked are things you already know about your wife/husband, it is just like someone asking you to tell him/her about your wife/husband so don't worry you will be fine as long as it is real........my case is still in NVC hopefully get a interview date soon......good luck to us...

Don't forget that you are telling the CO a very happy story about two people that love each other and are building a life together. Yes, there are some forms and facts to prepare.

The CO may ask some tough questions. Don't take offense. The CO is just doing their job to make sure that the people deserving of the visa get it.

Baileys

 omg so true!!!

Also, BREATHE! Not much more advice I can give you though. When I'm in a situation like this (just like the interview)I can "cope" best with it if everybody bloody leaves me alone at least 2 hours previously so I can be alone in my misery. ^^

Alles wird gut und wenn es noch nicht gut ist, ist es noch nicht vorbei.
