dear VJ friends,

We are sending our AOS papers soon, but we have some questions about sending the papers:

1. We are located in PA state, and we are adjusting my wife's status from tourist visa (expired in June, 2010) based on our marriage (I'm a USC). Where do we send her AOS papers?

2. Do we send I-130 form in a separate envelope from I-485 form(we are including supporting documents for each form)?

3. If we are to send those two forms separate from each other, should we include payment in their envelopes

- How do actually send payment for the forms?

We'd greatly appreciate your replies guys!!!

thank you!

J & A

Reading the Visa Journey Guides and the form instructions are very helpful.

You can find the Guides tab at the top of the page.

You MUST send the forms in the same package/envelope. If you want to put two envelopes inside a bigger envelope, that's fine, but they MUST be the same package. You will need two separate checks, and as to the address, it is in the instructions. One person pointed out that if you missed the address, you may have missed other important factors, so it's good to find it in there on your own. Good luck!

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

hi Harpa Timsah, thank you for your input! you answered to my questions. I looked at the guides but was a bit confused as we didn't know where to send my wife's forms, as in one of the instructions it said we had to send it to Texas and the guides here says to send it to Chicago, so I wanted to ask if anyone, who were in the same situation as we are, sent their papers to Chicago or Dallas. and our situation is adjusting status based on immediate relative family with entering B-1 visa from the start.

but thank you again for your help!

The most recent I-485 instructions (page 5) show that your package should be sent to the Chicago Lockbox.

The actual mailing or shipping addresses are shown on page 6 of the form instructions.

I agree, just read the guidelines, I did and it really helped me a lot ;)

Never hurts to double triple check everything, signatures and dates over and over before you seal the envelope! ;)

if you need a sample of cover letters for I-130 and I-485 just send me a private message and I'll send you a template ;)

Good Luck to you! Cheers ;)

No ofense, i'm sure most people are aware that they can "read the guidelines". This forum is to help people get the answers that they couldnt get on their own(e.g. including reading the giudelines).
