My fiance had his interview on August 27, 2010 in Chennai. Everything seems to have gone well except for a document missing. They took his finger prints, made him swear and all. Then they kept ALL his originals and gave him back his passport and a blue slip stating that he needed to send them (US consulate of Chennai) via VFS the missing document and his passport. So he did that on August 30th. Now the consulate has his Passport and all original documents with them and we are waiting to hear from them ever since. I have called and emailed both the US Consulate and the DOS asking for the status and they aren't able to give me no info except that it is on administrative processing. I even went to Chennai website looking to find the status of my case on their AP Processing report, but couldn't find his case# . Should I start worrying about it and take action? Or do i wait a little longer?

If action needs to be taken, then what do I do? Any advice please. Thank you all; and whoever is waiting for their loved ones wishing them the best of luck!

Have your congressional Rep or Senator submit a status inquiry for you.. It should tell you whats up pretty fast..

Duplicate post in Waivers and Administrative Processing forum has been removed. It is not necessary to post a question in more than one forum and this is the most appropriate forum for this question.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

pointed questions for DoS Hotline, when calling back (daily)

--when were items received?

--when were items put into the casefile?

--when will the items be reviewed?

--what is current casefile status?

--what were the last 3 prior status changes, and when?

Call daily, note the answers on a paper notebook, compare the answers over a two week period. You'll see some changes in the answers, specifically the last item, over 2 weeks.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Ya - I do mean the DoS Hotline - and for you to call them - you initiate the telephone call.

Please review this --> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

Dodi's listed 'how to call' and I've listed , further down, 'what you can get'.

Give the DoS Human the Embassy Case # .

Good Luck !
