Also, if there are empty rows in the centre-section (generally 4-wide) of an airbus, I can stretch my 6'1" frame acroos and lie down acceptably (not as comfy as my cot, but...) which I never could do in the 3-wide centre-section of 767 (or edge-section of 747).

(edit: on some airlines, that is impossible--as there will be very few empty seats, let-alone entire row centre-section)

Too true

We already have invisible aeroplanes - they are the ones that have been de-commissioned to force up prices on the remaining fleets.

We got this flight for $1050 each in cattle class but as from 2 weeks before it was $2200 a seat in economy and all the flights are always full now.

The airlines have all merged and also decommissioned planes and they must be making a fortune !

Instead of invisible planes, let have some more we can actually see - and no more north korean seat models

Instead of invisible, why not trying to make the plane FASTER, and SAFER

Really sad that Concord went out of business, I would imagine the next course of action for the future would be to get people faster to their destination, but i guess it's too much money and not up to the safety requirement.

Concorde was likely a once-only deal. It was nightmare-expensive to develop, drank fuel like you wouldn't believe and the Americans didn't like it (because it wasn't theirs). But it looked fantastic and the transatlantic routes are less fun now that they've all been retired.

As for safer, I believe that the accident rates for airliners mean that it is one of the safest forms of mass travel there is. Part of the reason people might think it unsafe is that when it goes wrong, it goes wrong big time. But safety is always improving and every setback results in greater safety down the line.

They should concentrate on getting them to fly and land safely before making them invisible. And I think that the military would be more interested in this than a passenger carrier.

You mean like ejectable sections of the craft when all else fails.

The individual PODs would have set parchute for the drop and emergency O2 for altitude and possible Floatation device to inflate on water landings.

Oh Wait they want to makeit invisible before establishing such emergency devices.

The Irish have developed ejector seats in their helicopters.

Sounds like a cool idea if they can actually implement it. I'd love to fly first class on an invisible plane and feel like flying.
