CDs are irrelivent. They cannot look at them or use them, they get thrown out. You need to print the pictures from the cds and include that instead.

The list is good Devraj, but just to give you a slightly different perspective I do not plan to submit any Original items to the VFS. Instead, I will make color photocopies of all my documents and submit those color copies to VFS. I will include a note that all originals will be present at the interview for review.

Part of the reason for this is that I only have 1 of some items and cannot get another copy even if lost by VFS.

For instance, my Birth Certificate is lost, I can get a new one from the issuing agency. But I cannot get a new boarding pass and also I only have one remaining wedding invitation from the (petitioner's) side, only one original hotel bill etc.

Anyhow just my personal approach so I thought to share !

Good luck !

Bobby,

I don't think VFS will take all your documents and forward them to the Consulate.

They just 'review' them whether all are good to go for interview, especially verification of the appointment letter, validity of the passport and NVC checklist. Most people, the medical is done after VFS phase. In our prior case, we submitted all the originals to NVC. We didn't have any certified copies of them, except the full set photocopy of I-130, AOS and IV. And my wife explained to them originals are with NVC. They said ok.

Also, they collect a fee to return the passport back to the applicant by courier. The fee is most important to them :star:

I think Devraj may be planning to submit ALL documents she listed above to the VFS.

We are all having a little discussion about this idea (submitting additional evidence to VFS prior to the interview) over here at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/273331-documents-need-to-be-submitted-at-vfs-office/

At the very least there seems to be some reason or desire to try and and submit additional evidence through the VFS in advance of the interview.

I'm not sure whether it will work though, maybe the VFS will not accept the docs, they may not forward them, or the consulate may not review the docs received by the VFS. So it may be a bit of a shot in the dark, which is why I was planning to submit (color) copies.

Thanks guys. I will ask my husband to take all the items listed above to VFS office (copies only) and VFS will take and forward whatever they deem necessary. Also, my husband will bring originals on the day of interview. I guess this will be the logical thing to do.
