Alternatives to Affidavit of support...?

Heya everyone! I'll start off with saying that I'm 20 years old and I got married on Dec. 2, 2009. I sent the I-130 on feb. 7, 2010 for my husband who is a salvadoran citizen through birth. The I-130 got approved around late april ( I think the 29th..?) So after the $70 fee, and the page we had to sign about who was going to receive our documents, and now here's the biggie, the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT!

I don't make enough money to file a form on my own. I live with my parents and they are not going to help. I went with other family members and have rejected me as well. (My family only helps when they see an upside on their part or else they're like screw you bye!) My friends don't make enough money either so I'm kind of stuck...

My plan b is to get a better job that would help me make the minimum income requirements so I have proof by the year 2012... If I keep in contact with the NVC so my case doesn't expire, it'll be all good right?

Please I need some help some advice. Anything (please be appropriate) and any other testimonials as well... comments on how to get around this would be awesome too!!!

Oh! And if this doesn't go by anytime soon, will it be possible for my husband to get a tourist visa by any chance to at least visit me...?

I really want my husband here, we want to get on with our lives!

There is no getting around the affidavit of support. Your thought of obtaining employment that would put you above the required earnings is wise. Even if it takes 2 jobs to do it you will not need anyone else's help.

He can certainly apply for a tourist visa. He would need to show strong ties to his country at the interview.

How much below the poverty line are you?

If it is just a little, some savings might make up the difference, or your husband if he has any assets could sell them and wire the money to you/ buy a home in the US for you. Another way would be to take a second job, just for a few months till he gets here- even a couple of nights working at McD may put you over.

I'm down by a whole lot. I get paid in cash, my last tax I made well over 18,000 but my bosses only put 3,000 something so screwed me there.... this year I went to El Salvador and lived for 5 almost 6 months to build a stronger relationship with my husband.... :/

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!
