Aw thanks for reading! Yeah, my fiancé and I are really interested in documenting this process. Writing about it is sort of therapeutic for us, especially since we have been slacking on our creativity lately. This acts as a release as well as a motivator to write more regularly. I am the posts tagged The American and he's posts tagged The Englishman. At least something good is coming out of this crazy waiting game.

Ooooh we started a blog too! Mostly to keep in contact with each other and to give our family and friends some entertaining reads. We hardly do any writing though. LOL Just posting pictures and YouTube videos and the like. It's a lot of fun.

Other things I've been doing to pass the time are rearranging the house, making hair jewelry and websites for ppl, going to school (just about to start my last term for Massage Therapy), working and planning our wedding. I've also been doing a lot of imagining what our lives will be like when he gets here. This waiting thing is VERY aggravating but I just look forward to having this first hurdle be over with. I miss him so much and even though we have skype he doesn't have a camera so he can see me but I can't see him. Even writing this I'm thinking about him and missing him even more. ARRRRGGGHHHH Calgon take me away. LOL

I deal with the waiting a couple of ways. I've been going to the gym 4-6 times a week lately. Its the only way I know how to cope with the stress and the sadness that comes from missing my fiance. Exercise is natures own anti-depressant! It helps me feel better during the day and I sleep better at night. Plus I'm going to look awesome in my wedding dress!

I hang out with my friends a lot, and try to do a lot of the things I know that my fiance won't want to do with me when he gets here like go shopping or to chick flicks with my girlfriends. Sometimes its really hard though because they all have local boyfriends and oftentimes I'm the odd one out :(

Like someone else mentioned, I also check USCIS daily. Not because I'm obsessing over it, but sometimes its really reassuring to log in and see that it's really there. It's sitting there in black and white with a real number. I can't really explain it, but its reassuring and comforting to me.

Other than that I try to talk to my fiance on the phone as often as possible, we usually manage to talk almost every day at least for a few minutes just to say hello and I love you. But I think we all know that none of this really makes it any better. It might mask the pain for a bit but really well just need to get this over with and be with the ones we love ASAP!

I totally get you with the friends thing, alot of my friends are starting to settle, either engaged, organising thier wedding, moving in togther or having kids and I feel sometimes that I am the only one on this planet that has to deal with all this ####### just because my fiance lives in the states. Apart from them asking constantly 'any news on the visa' they generally know to stop talking to me about it now as they just get a barrage of comments thrown at them about how annoying it all is

The gym is defo a good release of frustration ( and an incentive for that wedding dress lol) but not getting much time at the moment as working all hours god sends. I gues swhen pay day arrives it makes it worth while and I keep thinking save save save and save some more as it will be needed when you finally get there!!

I am trying to fade away slightly from the USCIS site as its starting to drive me nuts seeing the same 'initial review' and no touches!

Lets hope we all here some good news soon xx

I don't know about that, it's been two months of waiting for me and it doesn't seem to be getting any easier, especially those of us dealing with the CSC. My only hope is that we manage to get through this without any hiccups.

I just want a touch! It's literally been nothing since the NOA1. I checked my case this morning and I swear a tumbleweed blew past me.

At least, once you're done with CSC, things will move fairly quickly for you. I get CSC and I get the joy of dealing with the Montreal consulate that takes 4 months to schedule an interview.

Tumbleweeds flying by... funny! For me, what is very interesting is that I was NEVER even a tenth as worried as I am now about this I 129 F petition as I ever was with any of my own immmigration petitions/forms (I got married to an American, filed AOS, later removal of conditions, years later divorced, later filed for naturalization, etc. now I've been an American for over 3 years). I just need to learn to chill! I remember that when I filed for naturalization I thought it was approved very quickly and the interview notice sort of surprised me in its speed! I wish I could feel the same way now!

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

I've come to join in the collective sighs :) Nice to know that I'm not the only one going nuts.

My story was NOA1 April 2010, NOA2 July 2010, done all the packets, done the interview - and at the end of it was told my New Zealand police check wasnt back yet so give us your passport and we'll get back to you and now I wait and wait and they dont answer my email question of how long I have to wait and whilst the interview was only 3 days ago it feels like a sodding eternity and I have no idea of how long I'm supposed to wait some more :(

Hate it, hate it, HATE IT!!!!!!

Actually that felt quite good

I'm envious of you. We filed in late June and he's coming to visit me next month so we're really hoping we can celebrate our NoA2 in person. Also it would be perfect as I'd be able to get my documentation together and send it back with him. Who knows.

Thanks but nothing really to be envious of. I thought once the interview was over it would all be wonderfully magical but its not.

I dont understand why they made me go to Sydney for the interview only to turn around on the day and go well here's your temporary refusal paper because we dont have the police check back. If they didnt have it why did I interview, why didnt they wait?

And its my man and his daughter's birthday in a month - 4 October. I dont know when I'll get my visa or passport back so I cant book tickets to be there just in case it takes longer than 4 weeks. But I dont know how long it will take because they dont answer emails.

Ive been through a lot of stuff in my life - but this one truely takes the crown for revolting and stressful in the same sentence!!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to post in relation to the stress and how everyone deals with the magic K1 waiting game, in particular the wait for the NOA2.

I find I drive myself nuts checking the website and wandering when it is going to be. My dear OH lets say takes a much more relaxed approach. How does everyone cope with the waiting and being apart from each other? Each day goes by and you go about your day to day business but sometimes when I think too much about it I start to think how annoying, unfair and frustrating this process is and what the heck takes so long!

Anyone else get sick of people asking the same question 'have you not gone to the states yet' 'why is it taking so long? I'm like you tell me, I don't know so don't ask me!!

Any tips other than ' just keep checking' or 'be patient' - ive had that too many times and starting to lose patience with the damn immigration system.

Sorry had to vent :angry::bonk::help:

I am another from many dealing with the same ting.People questioning me why does it take so long and why this and why that.Yeah its tiring and unfair.I dont go to the USCIS website more than once a week.Checking those processing times REALLY stress me out since i see them changing quite a lot now (seems like the CSC is slower than it was a month ago)and thats what we dont want.Since I spent in the US most of time last 3 years as an au pair and then as a tourist I try to concentrate on my family now, friends i haven seen in years, seeing places i have never been to in my country and working, anything that keeps me busy.Yeah i am home since May and I am quite ready to go back but i keep telling myself to appreciate what i have now because i know as soon as i come back to the US to be with the one i love,i will miss my country, family and friends again.

I admit that the time goes by kinda fast for me as I am really not bored but its never fast enough anyway!! As some of you I am lucky enough to see my fiancee every third month so i always on the date when he is actually coming and not on this long way run.Breaking this time apart helps me tremendously but i do realize that not everyone is that lucky. My sister helps me ALOT! Her and my parents are the biggest support :)

I do believe that things will be allright at the end and things will work out for us.We have nothing to hide or worry about. There is only ONE thing that makes me crazy and thats that someone sitting at the embassy can make such big desision for us.I heard so many stories here when couples got denied and were so desperately in love and ached to be married.I have one experience with denied J1 student visa. All my paperwork was allright but the consul did not even take a look at it.He was busier to yell at his colleague to make him a coffee, rolling his eyes,i swear! So i am like....ok i will go there again, have all the paperwork again and if that person will not be in a modd to look at it,we are screwed.Yeah THAT dives me crazy.

Oh man now i see venting myself too :) We all need it!

Goodluck to all of you and lets vent more often :) Lenka
