Ok, so I am about to print the I-129f, but I thought I had better ask here first to get a second opinion. Question 18 on the I-129f says to give a statement of how we both met, and I was able to detail that on where and dates and such, which all fit within the box for answering the question. However, the K-1 Visa guide here says to fill out a separate sheet in regards to question 18, sign and date it, and send it along with the form.

My question is, should I make out a separate sheet for that question? In answering that question, I told where we met and the date, when we started dating and got engaged, so I'm wondering, since that all fit there on the form, did I not write enough? What did others do here? Just looking for some advice before I make the plunge and send in my application.... ;)

Thanks in advance for your time and help! :)

Hi, as for me, I really made a separate sheet because we have lots of dates and I have a lot to say.

For this I wrote a few paragraphs (a page in length) on how we met and how we came to live together in his country and then signed it at the bottom.

On the separate sheet, I listed very briefly the details, date, places of having met in the two years prior to submitting the petition but then I made a list underneath of all the evidence that was attached or copies I had made and attached to prove that we had met, used airline boarding passes, receipts from two hotels showing both our names registered, photos of us together, passport visa stamp...Those kinds of things. It helps to highlight with a yellow pen or a post-it note right on the paper want you want them to focus on like both names on the hotel receipt for example.

Good luck.

Keep it simple. They don't need your entire relationship history. They just want to know how you met in person. If you want to give more detail, you can add a separate sheet, but it's not necessary.

I agree - my own statement was barely two sentences.

Just the facts - I was clear in showing we met in the 2 year requirement (which is what they are really looking for, they do not care, at this point, about a "loving relationship" - that comes later - at the embassy.)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
