This is your official warning to stop your attempt at antagonizing.

William,

Everything was fine before you stepped in and mucked it up.

i think what william is saying is this part is something you're speculating on: Poster B was suspended for two days by Kathryn

Ok. That is hearsay, not fact (or speculation). My bad.

Which he (William33) could have said much more plainly and without the snark.

In any case, once again a clearly defined TOS for OT would have helped a lot in that case. Members would know where the lines are, and mods wouldn't come across as arbitrary. It just makes sense.

one day, we will have to discuss your issues with eggplant.

when i moved to india i was 9 years old and one of the first words i learned was 'baigan' - hindi for eggplant and also a popular word boys that age in that part of the country used to refer to a nice pair of mammaries.

be sure to pack well, because after eggplant comes squash, green beans, beets, boiled okra (not fried), carrots, and about a dozen other vegetables.

strangely enough, i do like spinach and collared greens.

Question - is the use of sarcasm and irony against the TOS now? I need to know because I employ both a fair bit in my posts.

Trompe, their chief weapon is surprise. Surprise and fear....fear and surpr--...their two weapons are fear and surprise. And ruthless efficiency. Their *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Ewok. Their four...no...their weapons...amongst their weaponry are such elements as fear, surprise...I'll come in again.

I saw some baiting and it wasn't William. Seriously, why does no one ever call out AJ? *His* post was the bait, for a moderator no less. Clever strategy to pull a switcheroo there. You guys are unbelievable.

Come on Jenn, really. I'll be the first to say that AJ can be a world-class baiter, no argument here. But this wasn't bait, at least it didn't seem like it to me. And even if it was, it was such low-hanging fruit that it should have just been ignored. Instead, his post was met with snark that W33 absolutely would have known would cause an uproar. He obviously jumped into this thread to start something. THAT is baiting.

The irony is that it took Charles to read through the snark, and as soon as he did, AJ backed down. If you're baiting, you don't back down.

Also, I hope you weren't implying there was some coordinated effort on my and AJ's part. There was not.

ETA: Some time ago, Ewok said he wanted to see discussions like this out in the open. If openly criticizing moderating decisions and policy is, in your opinion, baiting, then ok I guess I'm baiting, and I won't change your mind. But I don't see it that way.

William probably could have done without the eyeroll emoticon, true. It's all a matter of perspective, I didn't see William's post as baiting - because I know what it's like to have people criticize you because they think they know all about what went on when they really have no idea. AJ speculated about what went on, he knows it's speculation, and he did it in order to draw in a mod to respond, hopefully by clarifying what actually went on (but that's usually not what happens because we all know that whatever happens with vj moderation is super duper top secret!).

This from you, mox: "Ladies and gentlemen, your Visa Journey moderating team." , I interpreted as snarkiness, not openly criticizing mod decisions.

And then I guess we'll get into a "well, he started it" argument.
