Copy of tax returns or a transcript?

Hi all,

I just started getting all the documents together for my ROC and I am wondering if I should bother ordering our tax transcripts for last 2 years, or can I just make copy of our copies of tax returns? We did the latter for AOS and it was fine. Is it ok for ROC too? It's easier to just make those copies, but I really want to avoid RFE, so if it's better to order the transcripts, this is what I will do. What is you experience about all this?

I sent the transcipts, it's easy to order them and you may get them in about 10 days (in my case), they send couple papers for each year, i think they are better than copying the whole copies of tax return.

If you have the time go with the transcripts, it saves you a lot of headache if one of the W-2's falls out or the clerk is lazy and doesn't want to go through all the papers.

Yeah, with the tax transcripts, you do not have to send in the W-2s. We went to our local IRS office to get those transcripts and it took us less than 10 mins.

I have sent TAX RETURNS without W-2 (just didn't think it would be necessary), and got approved in less than 3 months, without interview or any questions asked. I believe for ROC they want to see you filed your Taxes JOINTLY, so all they want to see is both your names on it. This is the point.

I agree with that. I have actually only send the first page of each tax return just to show the married filing jointly statement. And i got approved without RFE or interview in a little less than 3 months.
